  1. Hi Just wondered if anybody was thinking about selling a Superb 4x4 estate car? Ideally a high spec 170bhp but would consider the 140, prefer manual if poss Thanks
  2. How did you track the fault down to the injector and then establish which one was causing the problem? Thanks
  3. Idles spot on, did have some fault codes but they appear to have cleared after a regen Codes were P0101 and P0236
  4. Any ideas what would cause the 1.6 engine to run lumpy at below 2000 revs? Once it's beyond this it is absolutely perfect it just means you have to keep changing down from 5th to 4th to stop it sounding like its labouring? Thanks
  5. Not sure exactly what I'm looking for but can't see any of the narrow rubber pipes with any splits in, should I remove the airfllter cover (looks like it is removed with allen keys)?
  6. I've been told they won't do the emissions fix if it has any warning light issues.
  7. I bought it privately about a month ago so no chance of a return. I wouldn't say it's all short journeys but there are some 4 mile each way trips to the supermarket a couple of times a week. I have 2 members of my family that have this engine in a Golf and an Ibiza and they haven't had any issues and I would say our usage profile is very similar.
  8. I have an issue that the glow plug warning light started flashing, will clear if you turn off and restart the engine, it then threw up and EML. Only did it after the car got warm (8 mile) and came on when crawling through stop start traffic. Had the faults read P0101 and P0236 by VAG specialist, drove the car around as usual for another 2 or 3 days and now the glow plug light comes on every 3rd or 4th journey but on 1 occasion the car went into limp mode I assume as it wouldn't; rev much above 2K. Also I've noted that the car runs lumpy at anything below 1500 rpm and you have to drop into a lower gear but then it's fine. Garage said first thing to try is for me to do a regen which I've been told to take to for a 15-20 mile drive and keep it at 2000 rpm, does this sound like it could solve the problem or am I looking at something more serious. It hasn't had the emissions fix done, mileage on car is 52000 and it's a 12 plate. Ideas? Thanks
  9. If you;rethinking about selling please send me a PM with some details and a price thanks
  10. As per the title I want to but a 1.2Tsi preferably a Monte Carlo or SE L. Any advice on what to look for and/or avoid or if anybody is about to trade theirs in or looking to sell please give me a shout I may well be interested. Thanks
  11. its a 2012, it doesn't have DAB as standard but I suspect it's had an aftermarket Pure Dab unit used in it which uses the FM radio to receive the signals, I'm just trying to find out where the aerial might be
  12. Hi I have bought a Superb and it has a small aerial connection in the centre console and the FM tuner says "pure DAB" on one of the presets. I'm assuming that the previous owner had a Pure add on unit but my question is does the Superb have a built in DAB aerial somewhere and the mini F-type connector is the way to access the aerial, I can't see an aftermarket on screen type but I know some VAG cars have a DAB aerial already built into the wing mirror. Is this the case with the Superb? TB
  13. Thanks for the advice, looking around there appears to be more 140s than 170s, does the 170 give a noticeable difference in driving, I've had the VW 105 and compared to the 130 I had later there was no comparison, the 130 was just so much drivable and pleasant all round. Is it the same or in reality there's not much in it?
  14. Thanks, I probably do 10K a year What petrol engine is good, trouble free and decent economically yet not dog slow?
  15. Thanks! Will do, btw I'm assuming diesel is a more economical option than the petrol alternatives
  16. Hi I am in the market for an Superb Estate, was thinking of going for a 170 4x4 unless I'm advised otherwise, any advice regarding what to look for, what to avoid etc welcome. I'm not looking for a high mileage example preferably 60K ish is about the ceiling Thanks TB
  17. I'm sorry to hear of your woes Donbrig, I appreciate exactly how you feel as i bought a new Triumph motorcycle last year and have been in a constant battle since March about the build quality. Such a shame and really does taint your enjoyment, The gearbox sounds horrific, you should push Skoda hard for an FOC replacement second time around. Subtle problems and squeaks I can cope with, major mechanicals are a different matter altogether. Where will you spend your money this time, it's so difficult to choose these days....
