Just had a set of Michelin Alpine 4 195/65/15 fitted to my Octy 4x4 £97 all in (fitting, valves, balance and nitrogen) for each corner, at COSTCO Croydon. COSTCO had loads of Winter tyres in stock and the beauty as a member when I want to go back to original tyres they will not charge to change over. These new tyre feel great to drive on I'm now hoping the weather does not improve for a few months.

Air Con Serviced Advice Please
Merlin4x4 replied to Merlin4x4's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Lummox Thanks for the promt reply and advice. sounds like I save a few quid then. -
When would I expect to service the Air Condition unit. Should it be done at any particular stage or only when it becomes faulty. I was advised at the 2 year service stage that I should also service the Air Con, I declined, will this affect any future Warranty claims.

Thanks for the response, interesting to find others are having similar issues. I do like using the shell V power fuel, I seem to get better MPG 2 to 3 a gallon, so the maths would suggest it is not any more expensive. If the loyalty points went on the account as they should with all the bonus points it would not take long to get free fuel vouchers.

I have a Shell Drivers Club V power Loyalty account. Having checked my points online I notice that when I have filled up with V power Diesel that the account is only credited as using standard fuel. V power should be credited with double points which is further enhanced with bonus vouchers and promotions, when standard fuel is credited all these bonuses are not given. I have spoken to Customer Services and their attitude is that I should sent them my reciepts, I can't be bothered as posteage and effort would negate the loyalty value. Has anyone else checked their V power Drivers Club account ? Does anyone else have the same problem ?

How many miles has your Oct'y done?
Merlin4x4 replied to mdk1's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I had a Mk1 1.8T 4x4 estate over 4 years 67000 miles. 6 new tyres, on set of new wipers and front brake pads at 66000. the mopst reliable car I've owned. Now on a Mk2 2.0TDi 4x4 so far 3500 in 3 monthsIve had to fill the fuel tank a few times but not as often as petrol. GREAT cars.. -
I've a Snooper Siryus, which fits perfectly. A stipe of velcro on the back of the conpartment and a stripe on the back of the unit. I don't leave any tell tale suction marks on the windscreen. Syrius is a great unit with spot on camera database.

*****Highly Recommended******* Today I took deliever of my new 4x4 2.0TDi from Allams. Since placing the order they have kept me updated with progress, they were competitive on price with internet sites. Sales staff had a very pleasant and helpful attitude throughout. They have made this purchase very straight forward. They have been knocked by others on this thread, for sales I can only recommend them. The aftersales service well I'll have to wait and see, but from those staff I have dealt with so far I feel confident they will get it right. :) :)

My wife has a new 1.9TDi Fabia. At idle the rpm is about 950, I can pull away and change up throught the gears with out any use of the accelorator. from memory Petrol and Diesel engines tend to idle at about 750 rpm. Can anyone confirm what the fabia should idle at before I approach the dealer !!!

I have just bought a New Octavia TDi from Allams. The deal including Part Ex was very well priced. Sales staff were willing to spend time before and after deposit placed and had a sound knowledge of the product. Very friendly, with a good customer focus, So far so good Recommended
