Hi, SWMBO has a 2014 Fabia saloon with the 1.2 3 cylinder engine and 5 speed box. Recently, when I had the bonnet up, I thought the engine seemed to slope downwards from left to right and wondered if this was normal. I had a check around the engine and gearbox mounts but couldn't see anything untoward. If anything was loose I'd expect they'd be lots of vibration whilst driving it but all fine. Its probably always been like this and I've never noticed. Can someone with the same car / engine confirm whether theirs also has a slant (once the weather improves ;-) ) Regards Ian

Rear drum brakes sticking on
Wrightpayne replied to Wrightpayne's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I think I'll put up with them sticking slightly - shoes £73 from TPS I don't think SWMBO has ever paid that much for footwear!! Ian -
Rear drum brakes sticking on

Passed its MOT - sticking didn't even get mentioned by the garage so must be a damp & overnight thing. I cleaned them both out in under an hour - didn't go under the car so was happy just doing it sat on my large trolley jack / slotted ice hockey puck under the sill. Fiddly bit was disengaging the auto adjuster through one of the stud holes so the drum would come off. Ian -
Rear drum brakes sticking on

Mark, I have had that before on cars where the pivot on the handbrake mechanism inside the drum had seized - it has its first MOT tomorrow so we'll see!! I think I'll treat my wife to some new shoes :-) and a thorough check over of the mechanism should sort it! Ian -
Hi, As per title, hand brake is sticking on, on SWMBO's 64 plate 1.2 (3cyl) SE. I've done some research and taken the drums off and cleaned them out. All the shoes move freely. I did detect some tiny particles stuck to the braking surface so emery papered and cleaned with brake cleaner aerosol. However they are still sticking on but much easier to free off when you pull away. I wonder if the surface of the shoes has started to break up and stick / transfer to the drum?? Any advice or ideas on fixing welcomed - probable next step is to install a new set of shoes and see if that sorts it out! Regards Ian

Hi, Car has recently been in for 70K / 5 Y cambelt change and waterpump at the dealers amongst other things. Since getting the car back (and the weather getting a bit cooler) I don't think the heater is working correctly. It's either that or my memory from last winter is sketchy! Its an SE with climate control. Water temp solid at 90 once up to temperature. I don't ever use auto mode and only use aircon when its hot or car is steaming up. So directing air to cabin and feet the air is quite cool all the way up to 23 then gets hot incrementally above this. I seem to recall when in manual mode it just did what the settings were set at? Anyway, been back to dealers today and its operating normally. I chatted with the technician and the heating system has a temperature sensor and will modulate the output temperature based on ambient temperature. Does anyone know if this is correct? Alternatively, anyone able to do a test on their car and measure the temperature when set as above? I guess winter is coming and I'll know soon enough!! Cheers Ian

Over tunnel rubber mat for mk3
Wrightpayne replied to Wrightpayne's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
well I never - not spotted that in all my ebay searches / trawling the accessory catalogues. Checking with Sandicliffe Skoda to see if they can supply. Cheers Ian -
Hi, Spotted Skoda sell a rear over tunnel rubber mat for the Mk 3 3V0061580 £16.00 and wondered if it fits the mk 2. Having 2 young kids clambering around in the back it would be a worthwhile purchase if it fits! Like internal overflows on toilets its one of those things that I wonder why they've only just thought of it - I guess that's evolution :-) Regards Ian

Does anyone have the part numbers / costs for the monte headlights? Also, the base level fabia has no trim whatsoever on the grill i.e. no chrome bits and all black. Maybe a better route for those not wanting to destroy the chrome trim. Definitely a consideration for our black magic fabia (non vrs/monte) Ian

Gave the vrs a wash :) *pic heavy*

Iain, I have two kids and use 'Sunshine Kids' stow and go's on the backs of the seats - storage for them and no trashed seats for me! About £7 each on ebay. Dont bother with the scuff n stuff version as ours fell apart. Ian -
You can get the VW/Audi screen wash in 5l bottles - I got mine from TPS in Leicester and works out reasonably price wise. £8.75 +vat.
