  1. The engine is on 32,000. correct oil and serviced at correct intervals. I didn't own it from new, i purchased the car from Skoda with roughly 2500 miles on it. It was on 29000 when i had it remapped. It was taken to Qauntim in maidenhead to get mapped.
  2. Replaced the spark plug, drove 2 miles. Parked up, pulled spark plug, covered in oil. Afriad that I have come to the conclusion that it is piston rings. Gutted.
  3. Thank you, for the advice. It has now developed another issue. A week or so ago it began to miss fire, cylinder 2 was the issue. Replace spark plug and coil, issue was resolved. Driving home last night and it begins to misfire again, cylinder 2. Might be unrelated but worth mentioning. contacted the tuner and he will have a look this week.
  4. It was mapped by Quantum, I think i'll contact the mapper, hadn't thought of that! Have been checking the oil as said above. Can't see any drips or obviously leaks, currently have the car parked over a large piece of cardboard. saying this, would be nice to find out it is a leak!
  5. Hi, I own MK3 VRS TSI. It is currently on 32,000 miles and has recently been remapped. Within in the last month or so I have realized that it is using an unusual amount of oil (registering as full on the dip stick lasts about 350 miles.) There is no smoke coming out of the back, nor is there any obvious leak. I was thinking turbo seals? Can anyone think of any other possible causes for this, that may be a cheaper fix? I appreciate any help received.
  6. I have this issue on my 2015 Octavia vrs tsi, the vehicle is under warranty. I take the car to the dealership and to investigate. The technician assures me that he has seen the issue before and confirms that it is the gear selector. Anyway... they refuse to replace the gear selector as the message did not appear when the vehicle was with them. Better yet, they charge me £63.00 investigation fee, despite the car being under warranty. Any ideas on how to tackle this?
