  1. The car had 3 oil changes and the brake fluid was changed, all before 4500 Miles!!!. The old lady was fleeced.
  2. One thing I need to know and there appears conflicting advice is the cam belt change schedule? Was any definitive answer given in this?
  3. Thank you Emil. I didn’t want to state the obvious as people were trying to be helpful. Not really interested what’s been done. I need to know what needs doing in view of it’s 4 years old. In its short life it has been over serviced by the dealers. I will now take over servicing. I know the basics, but need to know what else needs doing at the 4 year mark.
  4. Hi i have a Citigo 2014 1.0. It’s just coming up to 10k in the clock!! I bought it from an old lady who only used it to go to the shops. I bought it with 5k at 3 years old and it had had 3 dealer services before I got it. I am going to change oil, filter, air filter and plugs. As I cannot locate a service manual for the citigo, unless I have missed one, was wondering what else needs doing given age? Thanks.
  5. Have to say in all the oil changes I have done have never replaced the sump plug!! Drop the oil and new filter. Apply a smear of vital red to plug washer and never had a leak so far...... that’s most likely cursed the next change!!
  6. Thanks for info on the oil. I know changing oil every 5k seem excessive to some, but my philosophy is it won’t do any harm and I believe goes some way yo explain why I can get 300k plus on a car/van with minimal issues. Not sure the citigo engine will get anywhere near that!!
  7. Hi my citigo is a S model 2014 with 5000 miles on. It has had a service for each year. Now i own it I will be doing an oil and filter change every 5k and other stuff every 10k. Without opening a can of worms what oil is currently recommended? I am aware of VW oil codes as I also have a VW transporter/ campervan which I do oil and filter every 5k, it’s got 140000k on the clock. Anyone direct me to some literature for service intervals on parts on citigo? Thanks.
  8. Hi have just got a citigo as a back up car to my VW T5 so I don’t have to use the T5 for my business. Have to say I am impressed. I was lucky to find a 2014 Citigo S with 4100 miles on it and in that short time someone saw fit to have it serviced 3 times!! It looks like it’s just come out of the factory. Anyway my queries are. Does the 2014 have a fuel filter. All my research would suggest not. If not is there an aftermarket kit? i know Haynes don’t do a manual. Have seen a couple of repair manuals for sale online for the citigo and wondered if they were any good and can the forum members recommend one? Thanks
