Show us your car on your sexy wheels

Thank you, yes it is essentially done, just a few more minor changes to report soon. I did photoshop to black bits to red etc and it looks good but as I have quite a bit of gloss black they suit the car better in gloss black
-
I think you are right, don't want to overdo it with red in the engine bay. The other black wolfrace alloys were a pain to keep clean, easily kerbed as they had a protruding lip and was hard to see them in pictures at times so I sold them and got these

Long time since I did any updates, not many modifications in the last 12 months but a few to report over the coming days! New alloy wheels, michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres, side skirt extensions and rear bumper canards added recently.

Aftermarket Head Unit Recommendations
HarleQuinn replied to EH75's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Hi, An additional wiring harness was needed as I have steering wheel controls, or so the guy who fitted it told me. The fascia can be found on ebay etc too. It does have a USB, I have mine running from the back of the unit for power and into my glove box -
Aftermarket Head Unit Recommendations
HarleQuinn replied to EH75's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Hi, This head unit does not show any displays, I don't feel they are needed with having the dials underneath and the trade off for this unit was worth it. I didn't have factory parking sensors but the same person who fitted the head unit fitted my sensors and he has the ausio coming out from the car speakers. Yes you will also lose visual but again I don't feel that is too needed. Thank you, the centre console is just the original pieces I wrapped with carbon wrap off ebay, I did all the silver / aluminium pieces with it! -
Ice warning, no bong noise anymore?
HarleQuinn replied to HarleQuinn's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I have seen this said however, historically when it's been 4c and under my car had made the noise pretty instantly when I put the keys in, even when the car hasn't moved in hours. I'm a little perplexed by it. Unless the car used to thing it was warm, then upon putting the keys in it would immediately detect its cold and boing at me. Haha I know what you mean, but if something is meant to work I'd like to know why it doesn't before ignoring it haha -
Ice warning, no bong noise anymore?
HarleQuinn replied to HarleQuinn's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Yes I don't need it as such but I'd like to fix it either way, thank you No other noises needed at that time, I get in the car, put keys in the ignition and at that point it used to bong, now it doesnt... It used to do it even if the temp was already 4c or lower. not as it drops when driving so I am a bit perplexed. I have seen some say your explanation is correct though so I have no idea. -
Hi all, so outside temperature warning, 4c audible ice bong. I am not getting the audible bong, the maxidot ice symbol shows and the temperature flashes so the warning is working, jus no bong. This started a few months ago. Every other audible warning seems to be working. I've done a search here but no answers either way. Can anyone shed any light how to get the bong working again? Thank you

They will be aftermarket. VAG replicas. I might have some bolts that have the correct style. So the 6mm difference in ET and 7.5 to 8J isn't a concern regarding bolt length?
-
Hi all, standard neptune alloys are 7.5J and ET51. I am looking at some 8J alloys with 45ET. My question is, will the standard octavia wheel nuts off the neptune still fit the newer alloys? Cheers

2010 Octavia rear wiper not working
HarleQuinn replied to Oldbanger's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Common fault, about £80-£100 for a unit. I have seen lots of people opt to remove the rear wiper and plug the fluid hole so essentially its a clean delete of the rear wiper all together. -
Easy to fit, myself and many others have opted for the Ramair jetstream induction kit My BHP with it and a milltek sports exhaust was 205bhp. Up 8bhp from the stock 197bhp. But I can't say how much was induction kit and how much was exhaust.

Did these sell at all? I might be interested.

Aftermarket Head Unit Recommendations
HarleQuinn replied to EH75's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Hi Alan, no those displays dont show but all that information is shown on the Maxidot directly behind the steering wheel so easier and safer to be viewing it on the Maxidot anyway! -
PFL and FL rear exactly the same dimensions?
HarleQuinn replied to HarleQuinn's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thank you that is really helpful. They look identical but I will double check with them to see what the minor difference in part number is, Haha -
Water/cooling pumps, one or two?
HarleQuinn replied to HarleQuinn's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks for the advice, it's just for knowledge really as I had heard a couple of different things! -
Hi all, Just looking for a simple answer really. The MK2 VRS facelift. CCZA / TSI / EA888 has two water / cooling pumps? One that needs the timing chain off to replace and another pump that can be accessed near the inlet manifold? Is one or both an apparent lifetime part? Thanks!

Halogen, Xenons, Bi-xenons?
HarleQuinn replied to HarleQuinn's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Cheers for the good advice. Seems like 4300k is a good place to aim for then. I definitely don't want them to have a blue twinge. Want a bright white. The car is 9 years old no. I'm normally pro active with changing things before they actually break.
