VRS MPG - Miles per Gallon
Ursicles replied to awhitham's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Commute 180 miles a day .... Usual commute is about 40mpg, thats on the M25. I have had it as high as 49mpg, but lowest its been is 38.5mpg which is pretty decent. -
Got a new job, so looks like the 245 will be 20k over the next 4 months Issue is that: 1) its a loan car, going to blow the 8k out of the water! 2) will need more servicing! So first service is due soon - how much did people pay for it? Checking Skoda website, they saying £179 - which seems pretty decent, though when you realise its just an oil change....

Anyone know what the vrs 245 wheel size offset etc is?? thinking of getting a set of these: http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=203308 if they fit.

DTUK box in a TSI vrs 245?
Ursicles replied to Richard_vrs245's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
So tempted to get one of these now. Anyone know what sort of top speed and 0-60 the 245 would have with one fitted? Every yr me and my mates do a eurotrip - cars need to be sub 6 secs to 60 and over 165mph top speed to keep up - as a minimum. Was going to buy a cayman, but wondering if a tuning box would give me enough to achieve those figure and not need a new car! -
Yeah one of my mates lives out there - i think you also need a permit to buy a car, something like £10k for a permit, and there are limited numbers of them too!
-
Love the armrest tray - really useful, so just ordered one too. BTW - if i was spending £70k on a car - not sure i would have gone for a VRs!!
-
What have you done to the engine to get those gains??
-
Question - does it struggle to get to 165? Every yr me and my mates do a eurotrip, and the usual rules are sub 6 to 60 and 160mph top speed minimum - and yes, we do hit that speed regularly (highest ive done is 189, another has cracked 200). Thinking of taking the red baron this yr for the trip rather than buying a new toy for it - but wondering if it would cope.

Dont really like red cars, but the red is def growing on me. Also in a car park bloody easy to spot as its so bright and makes a change from the greys, blacks and silvers everywhere. -

Had my previous lease for 19000 miles... never damaged an alloy. 200 miles on this new lease, scratched an alloy :) can only laugh! Not too bothered, will sort them out before i hand it back. -
Now a fully fledged member of the club after this mornings delivery! Was delivered on a trailer, so a bit annoyed that when i started it it beeped it needed fuel as only 5 miles in the tank! But happy it came with P Zero tyres.
