  1. Hi Guys, Car: Mk11 2008 1.9TDI (BXE engine code I believe, No DPF) Trying to resurrect this post.. Am I the only one who had more problems after doing the treatment?? Tearing my hair out here. So I did the treatment as specified. Got good movement out of the Actuator arm. Bolted it all back together and then took it for a drive. Warmed the car up then started up a hill. Imediatly went into limp mode. Cycling the engine wouldn't clear it. Waited 20-25 mins then managed to get back home keeping the revs bellow 1500rpm. Checking the actuator when the turbo was hot, Seemed the same. Took it for another drive. Seemed sportyier and better but then limp mode again, lots of white smoke, engine would start but then often die a couple minutes later or not rev. Cycled it many times. Sometimes it would be ok, sometimes not. Eventually left it and took the train home. Essentially it's worse than it was before doing the treatment... Would repeating the cleaning process help maybe?? Does this sound like I'm having other issues? Anything else I should try before going to the garage? Cheers guys
  2. Sometimes when going uphill with a small amount of slush or snow on the road it is better to be able to spin the wheels to move the snow out of the way. Also when you need to rock the car to get out of a parking space for example the ASR shuts the power off when it feels the wheels spin in relation to the back wheels so you can't dig away at the snow with the wheels. Most of the time it's better to keep it on, but if you're struggling to move or get grip up hill it's worth turning it off to try. Also better for lift of oversteer but that's more just for fun... :-D
  3. I fixed it! Feel a bit stupid for not checking but the button wasn't plugged in! Time to get those wheels spinning! Cheers guys.
  4. Yeah Brakes nipping or power being shut off. He never turned it off but he did have some problems with some rodent damage to the wiring.. but he told me that was all fixed... I wonder if thats the problems. I'll try a new fuse....When i dig my car out.. Just snowed a meter out here.
  5. I tried literally every conceivable way of pushing the button, 3 seconds, 5 seconds, ten seconds, double, pressing really hard, etc. Nothing. I know its not the dash light because that comes on when I feel the TCS working.
  6. Hi guys, Just bought a 2008 1.9td Octy of a friend and I can't turn off the ASR. I think the button is not working... tried pressing it hard, mulitple times etc, Can't make it go off. I need it off because I live in a very snowy place in the alps and its much better without. Anyone know of a way to disable it without the button? Or give any advice on how to fix this short of going to the dealer for a good screwing over. Yeah I checked the No.2 dash fuse and it was hanging out strangely and after i popped it back in still nothing.
  7. Thanks Lofty. I tried to get the exhaust of the other day and do the job but the strip clap thing holding it onto the turbo seemed pretty seized on... Any advice on getting that off? I didn't want to snap it..
  8. I've got a Question as I'm planning to do this soon. Could you not just get under the car a unbolt the CAT from the turbo and squirt it in from there? Seems a little easier to do than taking off the EGR pipe. I.e one tensioning clip around the Turbo hard to reach but not impossible. Pictured below. Obviously I'd be protecting the drive shaft and anything else around it from the Mr Muscle..
