  1. Thanks for the reply. The car has never gone into limp mode
  2. Hello, hoping for a bit of advice please. I have a 2015 1.6TDI and approximately 1 out of every 20 starts (I don’t use stop / start) the engine coughs a little on startup and the engine light comes on. When I read the codes I get a P0672. I then erase the codes and carry on, I’ve been operating the car on this cycle for around 3 months. Apart from the slight cough the car starts fine. My question is, does having the engine light on after the fault trigger affect the running of the vehicle once it has started ? I did an 80 mile trip in January with the light on and didn’t notice any difference. My understanding is that the glow plugs are only for startups and once started have no bearing but I can’t seem to find anything definitive on this. If it doesn’t affect the running then I’m tempted to just carry on like this until the car is due for MOT / service in the summer and get it sorted then.
  3. Got the car looked at yesterday by Aberdeen Volks Centre who diagnosed that the timing had been set up incorrectly ! They rectified and don't believe any lasting damage has been done thankfully. Car is now back to being nice and quiet as it always had been Now need to seek reimbursement of the bill from the original garage that did the cambelt last week...
  4. Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I can’t take the car back to the original garage without driving another 500 miles which I’m nervous to do with the engine making this noise. Luckily I’ve found a VW specialist to take a look on Wednesday and we’ll see what comes to light.
  5. Hello Been a long term Briskoda browser but first time posting. Hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction with this. I have a 2015 Octavia with the 1.6 TDI engine which has done 52k miles. Yesterday I had the cambelt / water pump changed along with an interim service. Today I have driven 525 miles from Berkshire to Aberdeen and after about 350 miles the engine suddenly started sounding really loud and rough similar to an old tractor ! The engine start / stop also started reporting an error but there are no other error messages or warning lights on. I continued the journey and the car seems to operate OK at motorway speed without any noticeable drop ion fuel economy. I’ve had the car since nearly new and it has always run like a dream up to now. When I picked up the car yesterday from the garage if anything it sounded slightly quieter than normal and certainly fine when I first stopped after around 200 miles. Do you think this has something to do with the work carried out or is it just a coincidence and this is something else entirely. I’ve posted a link of a video of the noise on startup, running and revving which hopefully is accessible. https://drive.google.com/file/d/15Zdq6T4-KzuuuGIE2YpRuR6CFpWn21x7/view?usp=drivesdk Any help or advice much appreciated. Many thanks
