  1. @skodakm27 Our's is a Superb but I've recently been looking into this as our battery keeps draining. Was fine for the first year and then suddenly had warnings on the computer saying that it was low and things stopped working. Had the dealership check it and they put it down to short miles / leaving it standing. They recharged it and only 40 days later the warnings were back. This time just had the battery replaced, however in the meantime I was looking at charging options as we cannot use a mains charger due to not parking by our house so solar was the only option. I have bought a 15w panel and regulator and fitted it to our parcel shelf. It plugs into the 12v socket in the boot. I don't know if Karoqs have one? Only time will tell if this works but it's designed for 12v batteries and from the chat I had with them they said it will so fingers crossed. https://www.sunshinesolar.co.uk/Item/SSP15P https://www.sunshinesolar.co.uk/Item/REG7 I see they do a smaller/cheaper 10w kit now but it doesn't appear to come with a 12v connector. It's plug and play. I bought 5m of velcro from Amazon and cut it up as required, holds the panel down using 4 mounting holes on the back and also holds all the wiring and regulator. I can post pics if you want but obviously we have a different model of car so not sure how much use they will be to you.
  2. Is the 190 TDI in the Passat the same as the one offered in Superb's / Octavia's? I test drove a 190 Octavia VRS and was extremely disappointed in the turn of speed or lack of. For me engine choice comes first and then gadgets. I enjoy driving our 220 every time I get in it, cracking engine. I see from your other thread that you're testing the Superb on Saturday. Be sure to stick it in sport and put your foot down and then come back here and tell me if you're still on the fence.
  3. Magnetic Brown all the way! We were going to order Business Grey until we saw the brown outside in the sun. It's different in different lights. It can range from black to almost copper.
  4. Has this happen myself once. No idea why, no error messages or signs of an issue. Just started the car up and suddenly had no stations.
  5. I don't think we need rev counters. Just use the fuel gauge. If it's not going down before your eyes then you're not giving it enough beans
  6. Tasker stopped working for me after android updated to 8.1.0. I tried every app I could find that did a similar job but none would work so I gave up and now wonder why I bothered in the first place as I didn't use the functionality anyway. I thought the traffic info on the sat nav needed data but it doesn't.
  7. Link to website. Just enter your drivers licence number, national insurance number and postcode. https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence
  8. News to me but found I can view my drivers licence details online which has all the info. AM: You can drive 2-wheel vehicles or 3-wheel vehicles with a maximum design speed of over 25km/h and not more than 45km/h. Light quadricycles with an unladen mass of not more than 350kg, not including the mass of the batteries in the case of electric vehicles, whose maximum speed is over 25km/h and not more than 45km/h A You can drive a motorcycle of a power exceeding 35kW or with a power to weight ratio exceeding 0.2kW per kg, or A motorcycle of a power not exceeding 35kW with a power to weight ratio not exceeding 0.2kW per kg and derived from a vehicle of more than double its power. A motor tricycle with a power exceeding 15kW 79(3) Restricted to tricycles So I can't ride a full on motorbike just a moped or a 3 wheeler.
  9. I've just received my licence back after renewing it (10 year) and see that extra categories have been added. I passed my test in Jan 2000 and I'm 37. AM has been added which I can see from the internet is correct, this allows me to ride mopeds without a CBT or additional testing but I have also gained category A back dated to 2013 which appears to allow me to ride any motorbike. However, I have never taken a CBT or any bike related test or indeed ridden one in my life. I cannot see anything online that tells me why this has been added and if indeed I did want to ride a motorbike if additional tests are required. Is anyone able to clarify the situation? Obviously I'm not daft and know I couldn't just jump on a bike with no experience but some clarity would be good to have.
  10. I don't recall what tyres we had on our old car but the 19" P7's are bliss in comparison. I can honestly say I've not once given tyre noise a thought in our Superb.
  11. Re the cornering fog lights. I've tried turning mine off but it turns the option straight back on in front of my eyes. Tried it numerous times. Not a fan but I see more and more cars with them now so most people probably know what is happening when one is lit.
  12. Fingers crossed for a big melt over the weekend. Just back from walking our dog and it's like a scene from a snowy disaster movie around here. The snowplow past us but due to being on a hill and the gale force winds some roads have drifts up to to 14ft high.
  13. One thing I do tend to do is drop it into sport if the situation requires it. For example our road joins a main road by way of a hill so you have to wait to pull out whilst sitting on a slope. Dropping it into sport makes pulling out much quicker / safer, just be gentle with the throttle. Actually I tend to use sport on most islands and junctions if I have to come to a stop. I'm sure you know but you can just tap the selector backwards to go into sport and tap it back again to put it back into normal drive.
  14. Never given it much thought as to correct procedure but I just move from brake pedal to accelerator. Like you say it's only a brief interval in between swapping pedals.
  15. When the headlight washers come on they spray the bonnet leaving it looking as though I've driven through a car wash and not stayed for the rinse. Is this normal or do they need adjusting? Can they be adjusted?
  16. I didn't realise it did come on automatically, I've certainly never seen it happen. I've been pressing the button when I want it on.
  17. You probably did it at the dealership, it was the first thing that was done for us. I feel it's a bit of a gimmick, it was fun to begin with checking things but now I never use it. Here are the details for contacting them about your issue: [email protected] or 03330 037 504 FYI if you ever change your email address then you cannot change it on skoda connect and nor can skoda. I have been advised to disconnect my account from the car, delete my account and then do it all over again. The dealer did it for us the first time and I have yet to do it with my new address so don't know how easy it is.
  18. After a week of unsuccessfully trying to make them work with the auto close I've given up and removed them. I think I'll put up with occasionally getting water in the car, losing auto close is too much of an inconvenience.
  19. Thanks, I'll give that a go if I have any issues when I try them next.
  20. Yes, sorry. Moment of madness. Window not door.
  21. Collected it in November. We went for Lada Poo Brown colour just to make it extra disgusting. I can see people in the rear view mirror trying not to puke in their cars.
  22. Got them fitted. Very easy to fit and I don't think I need to use the clips. The 2 front ones are currently affecting the one pull for the windows to go up, they get to the top and come back down again. Hopefully leaving them for a good few hours as suggested on the internet will fix that. They're fine if I stop them before they hit the top and then pull again. Anyone else have that and did it stop? No such issue on the back ones.
  23. You're spoilt for choice!!!! When we ordered our SEL Executive the only options were Business Grey, Quartz Grey, White, Black, Beige or Brown.
  24. Even more confusing then as none of the situations where it has said half left have had a slip road as an option. I think it's always been on roundabouts.
