  1. Does this only work with the dedicated wiring kit? If you wire it up with a multi bypass relay the ecu does not know. The electrics on mine is on a bypass relay. Have yet to tow with it to find out.
  2. It was some years ago that I had this problem. I took off the inner trim. Can't remember where the screws were, but pulled the trim out from the bottom and slid it up the window. I put some rtv on the holder to hold it in place. Changed the bulbs every other year. They get a little hot and burn out.
  3. The car was hunting a little, so i kept it to 70 mph, no throttle. Around town drove fine. No warning light or tale tale signs. This site is great, so much info.
  4. Had a hissing sound from the engine bay and thought it was the turbo on the way out. After looking on the forum for some ideals I checked the turbo out. The inlet to the turbo was off, but resting against it. Most of the hissing went but not all. Then followed all the turbo pipes till I found the hose to the inter cooler had the clips in the wrong place. One was OK but the other was in the centre of the hose. Moved this back into place and all is silent. Thanks to posts on this forum it has saved a lot in garage bills.
  5. Skoda want £62.86 for sensor. Thats cheeper than aftermarket part prices.
  6. Unpluged the MAF sensor at work and drove to a friends place of work. Car accelerated like normal, it must be at fault. He pluged his laptop in and we ran the car for 4 miles with the MAf pluged in. It showed as a fault code. We then saw on a graph that it was a flat line (dead). Thanks chaps.........
  7. Great, i'll start checking these out tonight. Thanks
  8. For the last three days my TDi has no power untill the turbo has spun up for the first time (time after start up). Then it runs OK. The car has done 117000 miles with no problems. I have also have no power for accelerating up hills, it will keep to a set speed but go no faster. I don't think this is connected but for the last month the temp gauge has been showing a cooler running temp. Not on all trips. I have a thermostat to change that. Thanks
  9. Had the same thing on the M5 last week. Put me foot down and spiced up what is normally a boring drive before the road works kick in. Feels about the same as an old caviler i had. Enjoy motoring before before it gets clamped too much!!!!
  10. I have a TDI plug in module from CARPOWER LTD for my 90bhp octavia. Payed £85 back in december 04 for it. More power, say 20-25%, but best of all 5-10 mpg better. Passes MOT no problem. Looking for one for my Kia Sedona now.
  11. New glow plug inserted. No flashing light and starts better.
  12. Tested the glow plugs and found one of them open circuit, will get it replaced tomorrow as rain stopped play. On the drive home the glow plug light did not flash. The outside temp was 6 deg C.
  13. The battery is only 2 years old. Will check the glow plugs later today. One of the glow plugs is open circuit. Will fit a new one tomorrow. Will take a look at the brake switch as well. Would a poor battery show up this way?
  14. My glow plug light has started flashing to and from work (45 mile trip each way). 90 BHP 2000(w) TDi 105,000 miles. All lights are working fine, just passed the MOT. Took bulbs out and refitted them, no change still flashing this morning. Engine slower to start as it is 1 deg C out. No other problems. Any ideas?
