Yes helpful, I like the interest only mortgage comparison, however unlike a house a car is a well known depreciating asset, (thats the way it is I accept but t's the level of depreciation figure thats spooking me, or more accurately the balloon payment maybe Im figure.- is the balloon payment figure the same as the residual value of the car, (what Im likely to get as a trade in at the end of the term) or as you suggest is it likely to be more than the balloon payment (all things being OK) when I come to trade it for another shiny new toy?

Hi, This is really a general question from a potential PCP newbie. Before I sign the paperwork can any one explain how the balloon payment or residual value comes into play after the agreed term of the finance deal. I get I can hand the car back, buy t or start again but the ballon payment Ive been quoted from Skoda suggests a depreciation of about 60% on the purchase price. Is this standard???. Am I correct in thinking this is the minimum agreed value and the price I get at the end of the term may be higher? Thanks

I contacted a dealership in the Midlands selling a Black Karoq this evening- same spec as the local one The guy could not have been more helpful, sent a video, offered to pay for my fuel and overnight stay etc.. Told me the car was sold by himself, immaculate condition and the only reason the one careful lady owner traded it was was buy a Kodiaq- apparently she is a bird watcher and needed a black car to hide from the birds and a bigger one so that she could lie down in the back of it while watching! salesman then sends me the PCP quote-hang on I thought somethings not right here, despite being listed at a cheaper price than the local Karoq with the same terms, , the repayments were more. A wee bit of head scratching revealed an APR of 9.6% which was not mentioned on the quote. Incidentally both dealers have offered more than previously offered for my 2013 Fabia Monte Carlo. Hi Ken , Thanks for the message. Ive just been offered a year old karoq edition by my local dealer-diesel, which I tested last week and liked however was put off by the sales pressure. They have now reduced the price by 700 pound which is making it attractive -however Im naturally suspicious and wonder why the previous private owner had it for only a year and the dealership have had it sitting for a month. Any advice as an edition owner yourself?? Thanks

Hi, Re Janes post about ordering a new karoq edition. Im looking for the same but the dealer (on 23/8/21) told me the Edition is no longer avaialable. Have I missed the boat???? or can it still be got new ??. Skoda site isn't clear. Normac

ah, good point, thanks chris im not too fussy about a scout, don't need fwd, but there is one avaiable nearby. I really want an edition, for the pan roof and varioflex seats but thin on the ground and new is a long wait. nor

Hi, Does anyone know how to replace a bulb in the nearside daytime running light please. (2013 Mk 11 Monte Carlo) The book says remove the grill and push the retaining clip to one side-maybe Im overthinking it but I'm dammed if I can work out how to get into the light cluster. Thanks

Hi, I have a 2013 fabia diesel monte carlo. The reservoir needs topping up with coolant and the nearest I can source is Prestone Universal. Do you know if this is ok to use. It doesn't say its g12. If not can you tell me what you used in your one please? Thanks

Hello Mrgf, Thanks very much for taking the time to reply. As I suspected and as you suggest Skoda tell me it's not there problem as my local garage isn't VW authorized. I'm taking it to another non franchised specialist tomorrow where I hope to have better luck getting it fixed without the need for injectors. They suggested it would likely be seals or hoses and I believe there is a copper washer on the bottom of the injector that can fail. Thanks again for your reply.

Hi, Discovered a smell of diesel coming from my 2013 Fabia diesel recently. Took it to my local garage and was told its coming from the injector seals. I rushed home to check my NOX Campaign warranty -discovered it had expired two days after the initial date I took it to the garage!. The fine print of the warranty reads "customer makes a complaint to an Authorized Repairer (does this include my local garage??) or to the VW Group. " Does anyone out there know how I can persuade Skoda to honor this or if not how to fix the problem please?? Thanks Normac

Hi Re the thread of a resistor pack failing. I have a 2013 fabia Monte Carlo with the same problem. I have accessed the resistor contained within the ac filter housing under the dash but can't reach it to remove. Does anyone out there know how to get it out please
