  1. Quick update. When I unclip the fan and power it out of its housing (still connected to the car's electrical harness) it spins powerfully for about 20 seconds then stops, and makes the clicking sound again. I'm really not sure if I should replace just the fan or also the resistor unit. It is an Octavia Mk3 2.0 dti. Thanks.
  2. Hi. I know there are a lot of threads on blower motors, and I have read many of them. Specifically, my blower has been working intermittently over the last couple of weeks, to the point where it now works 5% of the time, if I am lucky. When not working it sometimes makes a buzzing sound, like it is trying to draw too much current. When it stops, the blower unit makes a slow clicking noise, like relays trying to activate. I have removed it today and tried to spin the fan by hand. How freely should it move? With a firm-ish spin by hand, it continues to spin for about 1 turn, maybe 2 max. Would you expect a new motor to keep spinning freely for many more turns than this? Does it sound like the fan unit needs replacing (i.e. P/N 5Q2819021A without the regulator attachment)? Thanks in advance. Paul
