  1. @toot Yes this was an independent VW specialist not a main dealer, I'm not really sure what I want done other than I want a reliable car for the next 3-4 years without spending a fortune!
  2. Just to add its the 2.0 TDI, 184bhp engine (although I think that was the only option on the 2014 DSG Scout)
  3. I've got a 64 plate Scout, with the DSG gearbox, its just coming up on 100k miles, I bought the car 5 years ago with 45k on it. In that time I have to admit I've not been pro-active with servicing, generally its had an oil service when the light comes on about once a year and other bits as the have come up, I don't think any of the other fluids/filters etc have been changed in that time. Usually just by my local independent garage thats done the MoT. The oil service has just come on again and I'm also aware that its coming up on a significant mileage so thinking I might have to spend some money on the car, its very much a family workhorse rather than my pride and joy, I'm not really concerned about any resale value, one day when it becomes too much hassle it will get thrown to a trade in. Equally I do like the car as it fits my needs perfectly and doesn't cause me any stress or annoyances, I'll almost certainly have another Skoda. Spoke to a local independent VAG garage in North Somerset and they've offered the following: Transmission Fluid & Filter change £300 Oil Service £290 Front & Rear Differentials service £130 Brake Fluid change £90 Cam Belt Change £480-560 (depending on engine) Does this all sound about right? Anything else to consider? Its not an insignificant amount of money but if I need to spend it to give me another few years of reliable use (annual mileage is ~10k) then so be it.
