Thanks for all the replies. I was mistaken, I have an ESP button on the dash so I suppose I must have that! The handbook says that it includes TCS (traction control ) and EDL (diff lock). These would seem to be good things with an automatic on slippery surfaces such as snow or mud. i do not understand why the handbook should ever recomend turning it off.

I have a Fabia mk2 tiptronic which has ESC as standard. What does ESC do and when is it good to turn it off?

Servicing low mileage Fabia 2
PeterBeard replied to PeterBeard's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Thank you to all for servicing advice. I get a local garage to do the work now I am older, but to my specification. Next time I shall probally get all the filters, fluids and plugs done just because of the cars age despite the low mileage. My research tells me it has a timing chain, l hope you all agree. Does anyone know what a lambada probe is? it seems to need replacing occasionally. Now I need to mount our tomtom somewhere suitable. As the windscreen is relatively low it really needs to be at dash height. An air vent fixing, probally from Halfords, seems the easiest option. Does anyone have a better idea. -
My wife and I have just purchased a 2009 Fabia 2 1.6 tiptronic which has done less than 21000 miles. I suspect the servicing so far has mostly consisted of oil changes. I will also be a low mileage user. I need to know the recommended intervals for changing pollen and air filters, spark plugs, coolant and hydraulic fluid so I can organise them at sensible intervals commensurate with time and mileage. Can anyone recomend a suitable book or download. Thanks, PB.
