  1. Howdy folks, Have recently been having issues with one of my Xenon dipped beams on my L & K 2007 Superb and after troubleshooting the issue found the ballast had died and a replacement is on the way. When testing my lights I noticed that (going from left to right on drivers side) that my dipped and fog lights have the projector lenses, with big one for the dipped with xenon bulb, and the next smaller projector lens with H3 55W bulb which is working as my fog light and then next is my main beam which is also a H3 55w but without any lens at all, and directly below that is the driving bulb / light.. so its dipped with big projector lens, then fog with smaller projector lens and then main beam with out a lens all going from left to right on the drivers side and its visa versa on the other side. So my question is this please - are my bulbs configured corrrectly as explained above? It seems to me the H3 connections between fog and main beam are possibly mixed up? If anyone can "enlighten" me as to the correct running order or positions of the different beams that would be much appreciated! Best wishes M.
  2. Hi, Has anyone in Ireland or UK ever had their DPF taken out and 'professionally' cleaned by one of the many DPF cleaning companies out there? Am based in Dublin and would like to hear of any recommendations or stay well clear of's also? Seems to be lots of chancers in the DPF cleaning game out there and there must be a reliable one that knows how to properly clean VAG DPF's out there somewhere!! Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!! Cheers
  3. Howdy mk1 ers... I am thinking of lowering my 2007 superb (2.0tdi) and would love some advice from the wise and well informed mk1 community please. A couple of questions please : Do any of you know if the stock springs from a PASSAT B5.5 will lower the superb - I have been told yes they will, but not by how much exactly and I personally think the ride quality will be compromised as the superb is a heavier car? A friend has a set for sale and it would be a very cheap and hopefully cheerful mod to be honest.. Which H&R springs are best for the job if any of you know or have done before? I am in favour of H&R springs fitted with stock specification shocks or B6 Bilsteins than the passat springs option but am openminded also? Will the xenon headlights self level properly if I lower the car 30mm or 40mm? Am thinking about reverting back to standard headlamps with manual adjustment anyway (drive mostly during the day) and have had to replace one xenon ballast already.. Am I right to think that 'standard halogen' lamps will plug and play with the existing plugs or not - I have a copy of vcds and I should be able to recode the system for halogen units.... hopefully? Would like to know more or as much as possible about a lowering project before spending money on springs be they new or otherwise and any advice would be gladly welcomed please. Thanks in advance, Mike.
  4. Hi there I have seen some aftermarket CATS on EBAY (P/N 3B0254250AX)) ranging in price from £170 to £400.... This is the same CAT unit onthe Passat B5 BGW engines. and also there is a replacement flex piece that can be attached to an existing CAT (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Catalytic-Converter-Flexi-Pipe-VW-Passat-BGW-2-0-TDI-3b0254250ax-Gasket-RS/321767530632?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
  5. Sorry folks also meant to include a request for any Information or guidance on repairing the pollen filter housing seal be it DIY with silicone or where to get a replacement seal / gasket kit please. Cheers Mike.
  6. Howdy folks, I am thinking of putting a new DPF on my 2007 3u4 superb (2.0tdi PD BSS engine) as they are currently just slightly more expensive as getting an existing one cleaned, at least as listed on EBAY. Has anyone any knowledge of a good supplier / manufacturer of a good DPF or knowledge of ones that should be avoided please? Am I right to assume that aftermarket DPF's are manufactured to as good as OEM standards or EURO 4 standards? Any advice or inputs would be gladly welcomed thanks in advance! Mike.
  7. Hi - less than 1 year. Previous owner had lots of work done on the engine such as upgraded oil pump, new cam and lifters and a refurb turbo too. Just have to make her water tight now lol!!
  8. Howdy Briscodians - new member and proud owner of 2007 Superb 2.0TDI L&K ( dreaded but working grand! BSS engine) Looking forward to learning from and contributing to the community!
