  1. Had another go today and believe I might have solved the mystery. Took the O/S rear light cluster out and noticed a gap between the panels. I have filled with mastic and hope to find the boot dry when it rains. I have attached a pic so you can see what I found.
  2. I think that is going to be the only way to find out. Was thinking of replacing boot seal and rear lights (as you can't buy the gaskets separately) but might be throwing good money after bad. I'll wait until the weather improves and give it a go.
  3. I thought I had solved my issue but with a bit of rain last night I checked the boot this morning and it is wet again in the same place. When I took the bumper off a couple of weeks ago I didn't see any holes that have been mentioned in earlier posts. I'm thinking of replacing the boot seal and the light cluster seals. Spoke to VW and they say they don't do the light cluster seals unless you buy the whole light cluster !!! Anyone know of anywhere else that does just the seals? Also, is it possible to run a fine bead of mastic under the boot seal to make it 100% water tight?
  4. Well I bit the bullet yesterday and took the bumper off. Removed the rear light clusters and boot seal and all the associated trim and couldn't find any holes that needed filling. The only ingress point I could see (with the help of a watering can) was the "sliders" that the bumper slides on to. The three square plastic locators that come through the bodywork and into the boot appeared to be letting in some water above the recess in the boot floor where the water was gathering. Generously siliconed them up inside and out and put everything back on the car. Went out this morning to check if it was dry (after no rainfall last night) and found it damp again!! I'm now tempted to change the boot seal and light cluster seals to eliminate them from the equation unless any one has any better ideas? Also, where is the cheapest place to get new seals from. Everyone on here says to avoid main dealers?????
  5. Hi, had my superb for 5 weeks now and have noticed today there is about half an inch of water in the floor recess, behind the O/S rear light cluster. Anyone encountered the same issue and found a cause or way to sort it?
