  1. I got 4 of these (colour 9) https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32848599226.html?spm=a2g0n.orderlist-amp.item.32848599226&aff_trace_key=&aff_platform=msite&m_page_id=6229amp-HhMyu9nZZbU0SXLUvCzX-Q1543184217422 2 in the boot, and 2 for the red marker lights in the door cards. Really good, no Canbus problems, cheap enough that if they do cause any issues you can sling them. All the LEDs are on one side, which is much more efficient than the 360 degree coverage ones, as the festoons don't have reflectors in them. And they are the correct polarity for the light to shine outwards!
  2. Pricing is now £8.99! Top tip though. I've ordered, should arrive for the weekend!
  3. You'll want to bond the element to the windscreen so it directly conducts the heat - any airgap is going to sap its efficiency. Also, make sure the adhesive your using has minimal insulating properties - so definitely not double sided foam. Super glue could be most efficient, but really hard to work with. Double sided tape is going to insulate somewhat. Also needs to be waterproof to handle condensation - super glue would fit the bill again.
  4. Timing belt will be coming up 5 years old. I think my Skoda dealer wanted £359 to do it. Probably get it done with next year's service.
  5. Ah, Sweden. That's probably more useful than an ejector seat now I come to think of it
  6. Couldn't take it from the fuse box? Maybe installing an unfused ejector seat.
  7. I bought 4 of these (emitting color 9): https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32848599226.html?spm=a2g0n.orderList.0.0.5516b7524lndWa Used in the door lights and in the boot in the existing units. Worked well - the units don't have reflectors so having all the chips on one side meant all the light was usable.
  8. Easy to splice in if you already have door lights (instead of reflectors). Same steps as the mkii guide here: I bought these ones from Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00NBEOZA8/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  9. I paid £100 at a Citroën dealership 3 years ago. £140 sounds close enough. Only worth doing with new/newish tyres, as they do not always survive the next tyre change.
  10. Cost me £100 including instalation from a Alloygators registered installer when the car was new. Got a tyre place to fit them at the 1st tyre change, but next time I'll go back to a registered installer. Their website had a search feature - plenty choice of installers.
  11. I've got a set of alloygators on another car with diamond cut wheels. They get replaced at the same time as the tires. I went for black rather than the outrageous colours. Never had one come loose, and they've been well battered.
  12. Yes - requires more courage than strength. Use your fingers like the video, rather than a tool, and it will pop out easily enough. You'll need a set of small torque bits.
  13. Some leds may have a similar colour temperature to the sun, but the effective temperatures are quite different.
  14. What about Osram Nightbreakers? Still halogen, so no legal or insurance issues, no Bcm issues, but throw a bit more light.
  15. If you were in the UK you may need to factor in auto leveling and lens wash into to keep it legal - not sure if same applies to rest of EU. And then you'd pay for it every year on your insurance as a modification. I'd be inclined to live with halogens and add it to the wish list for your next car.
  16. Superskoda have published a video showing how to remove and refit the puddle lights. Required disassembly of the mirror unit, but I managed and I'm pretty cack-handed. The upgraded units from Superskoda are good, but took weeks to arrive, so depends if you're prepared to wait. http://www.superskoda.com/es/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-MEGA-POWER-LED-mirror-downlight-KI-R
  17. Superskoda have the combi product - looks more like a hammock than a box. Their website seems to be down, but if you search for: superskoda Skoda OCTAVIA III Octavia Combi original boot multifunctional box You should find it.
  18. Hello, First time poster - found this how to guide: where @Bowders1 has kindly shown how he retrofitted an LED strip under his door panel to provide puddle lighting when the doord open. I've got the OEM puddle lights in the mirrors, but they only light up outside of the door, which is great when you're approaching the car in the dark, but useless for stepping out of the car in a dark, puddly car park, so this mod looks just the ticket. However, on looking at the bottom edge of the door, there appears to be an empty space for a courtesy light, maybe for OEM puddle lights. Is there a light festoon that fits in this space? Superskoda don't appear to have anything for it. Has anyone investigated this space? Just wanted to check before I purchase an LED light strip similar to @Bowders1's recommendation. The product he recommends is no longer available, but I've scouted out this product on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142445204594 which looks like it will fit the bill. Thanks in advance!
