  1. Ours is still doing it. its does mainly happen within 5 minutes of starting the car. There is no pattern to it. We’ve had it happen to both my wife and I when we both have different phones connected, no phones connected and even when there is no USB cable attached. The dealer even had a tech take the car home for a week to see if it recreated the fault which it didn’t. The day after we got it back it happened again.
  2. Car is parked near an electric car charge point but it’s been turned off since we got rid of the Leaf. the problem can be recreated at the dealers 5 miles away so I don’t think it’s anything to do with the local environment. i do appreciate all the suggestions though so do please keep them coming.
  3. We’ve never had a problem with starting the engine. The problem has only ever been with the locking/unlocking
  4. The car is 2 months old and has come from the production line so hasn't been sitting in a dockyard waiting for a buyer so I wouldn't think the remote batteries would be the cause (although it is something I will suggest to the dealer) The dealer has asked for both sets of keys for the car while testing so maybe they have checked the batteries already. The keys are kept away from the car - in fact, sending the kids out to the car to fetch items is how we realised that unlocking and locking the car using the fob loses the KESSY pairing information. The dealer has phoned since and tells me that losing the pairing over time is actually mentioned in the handbook but I cannot find it (admittedly, my laziness means I've only read the section regarding locking/unlocking and KESSY so it may be buried somewhere else in the book)
  5. Is yours fitted with the sensors on the handles and the keyless ignition?
  6. Anyone have a MKIII Rapid or Fabia with keyless entry and start? I have what I think is an issue but Skoda UK and the dealers tell me that it's normal across the Fabia and Rapid model platform. After anywhere between 10 and 20 hours the keyless entry looses it's pairing meaning that you can no longer open the car using the touch sensor on the door handle, and can only use the remote FOB. Each time this happens I re-pair the key and the system will work again until the car is not used for another 10-20 hours. When the keyless IS working correctly, if you open the car using the fob and lock it again using the fob, it stops the door handle sensors working until you re-pair the remote fob again. I feel like I am being fobbed off (excuse the pun) by the dealers as no other marque of car I've owned with keyless had a system that would lose it's pairing memory after 10 hours. Does anyone else's system behave this way? Can you leave your car a few days and still have the door handle sensors activate the locking? Does your system need re-pairing after opening/closing the locks using the fob instead of the door handles? Like I say, the main dealers are saying that Skoda have told them that this is how the system is supposed to behave across the Fabia/Rapid platform but when I pushed them to say do they honestly believe the statement they had just made, they went a bit sheepish like they know it's not really working correctly.
  7. Yes I am having this problem. Dealer has done the software update but it hasn't fixed the issue. Please see my other thread where I mention this. The dealer currently has the car and they are using it plugged in to their diagnostics as it's an intermittent problem to see if they can have it happen while plugged in.
  8. Thanks for the reply about your experience Estate Man. i am waiting a call back with legal advice. My main sticking point is that we are after the 30 days. What I need clarification on is does the initial 30 day clock stop once the problem is reported and being investigated? believe it or not, I actually like the car and would be more than happy if it wasn’t defective. I fear now that by giving them the time to fix it, I’ve reduced my strengths when it comes to returning for a full refund. its on a PCP so I will also look at what assistance/leverage the finance co will apply.
  9. Hi all. I've recently got a new Monte Carlo and I'm regretting it. On the night it was collected I noticed condensation in the headlights (the DRL section) Since then the stereo keeps cutting out and going through the reboot process. The headlights have all gone off while driving at night for about 10 seconds before coming on again. The keyless entry only seems to work for a few entry attempts before you then have to use the buttons on the key fob to get in. You then have to pair the key again to get it to work. So far the dealer has had the car the same amount of time as I have. They have replaced the BCM thinking this will fix the issues - it hasn't. Tonight, the keyless has again stopped working and the stereo is now displaying 'Component protection active' As far as the condensation in the lights, the dealer has said that 'Skoda are aware and it's within an acceptable tolerance' For a new car which we waited 8 weeks to be delivered it's really disappointing. Has anyone else had these type of new car problems and how did you handle it?
