  1. I have just been quoted £380 plus labour to replace my heater blower on my Skoda Superb 2012 so I think I'll have a go at getting to the unit underneath the glove box as advised by the posts on this forum because it could save me a lot of money. Fingers crossed
  2. No sound at all now....where as it used to bleep once when you put it in reversr
  3. Thank you 26DIPP and AkisVH for your replies. Not tech minded when it comes to cars...what's DTC's? And it's the standard Skoda sensors that came with the car. Working one minute and not the next. Is it controlled via the colombus system? No tow bar or any such equipment attached to the car. Head scratching...been through the manual 20 times now to see if we have missed anything but there is not a lot of write up in the manual for the Parking assist etc...
  4. Yes the reversing lights come on. I checked last night. All sensors have been cleaned.
  5. I believe so...my wife has taken the car to work so I can't physically check at the moment. I will send her a message to check them.
  6. Hello...I wonder if anyone could help on a puzzling problem please?...our reversing camera and sensors have just stopped working for no reason. Are they on a dedicated fuse and could this have blown? Or is there an option to disable this function in the cars menu. (We have an 8 year old who likes to press buttons and clear caches and data). I have been through the owners book but can't seem to see an on / off feature for this. Any info would be greatly received. We have the 1.6tdi superb greenline model. Sorry posted in Octavia by mistake but don't know how to move to superb II FORUM???? Simon
  7. Thank you Drefaldwyn.... that is a very good link to a very comprehensive instruction. Much appreciated. I have checked my current sw and hw on the secret menu and I think I will upgrade the firmware as per the instructional guide to 5238 and then purchase the newest maps to load on. See image of my SW / HW + maps. If anyone can advise different please let me know otherwise I am going to attempt a rebuild later today.
  8. Ohhh...didn't realise it was this simple. Cheers Chimeare is there a website I can go too ...to download the firmware? Do I need to know what version of Columbus my unit is so I can download the appropriate version.?
  9. Thank you Rusty Nuts and Pab567 for the replies. Never done a reflash before...do I just put the appropriate firmware on a flashdrive and find the aux usb port and navigate to it to reinstall the software or is it a bt more techy than that? I don't suppose anybody has You tubed a video on how to do this have they? What Firmware would I need? How much would my garage charge me if I chicken out and take it to them?? Carpenter and Joiner by trade so Techy stuff not too great at but willing to give it a try.
  10. Hi pab567....thank you for the prompt reply. Sorry not techy so don't understand what NAND is ? Is it something I can do or do I need a guy with a special bit of kit?
  11. Hello all... Our car has decided to originate to german in the Columbus media centre consul. When I go to system settings and change it to English it comes up with a pop up window stating "die gewünschte sprache wird geladen" ...then goes no further. The only way out of this screen is a soft reset. Has anyone else had this issue? Can it be resolved without having to spend any money ?
  12. Got the car back today minus the Christmas tree dashboard at last. Initially the diagnostic said the front abs sensor which they replaced but didn't resolve the issue. Then they did some wiring checks and found they didn't have continuity. Fault found on the wiring loom. Wiring repaired and all put back together. 336.30 worse off but car fixed...I hope.
  13. Let's hope so Snowathlete. The garage said they were going to do a full diagnostic to include power steering etc...
  14. Local garage put the diagnostic on it today and it's showing as the near side front abs sensor faulty. It's going back in next Tuesday to get a new genuine Skoda part replaced. I didn't want to post a reply until we get the car back repaired and no Xmas Tree lights on the console. I will update next weds.
