  1. You’re right chaps, I’m not used to such modern farcles! That makes the fuel consumption look very bad indeed. Good luck finding the cause.
  2. Have you checked for fuel leaks? With consumption that poor, I’d be looking for a split pipe or filter. Try parking the car over some clean and dry paper (the back of a roll of wallpaper is ideal), run the car and look for signs of dampness on the paper.
  3. I've been using one of these for the last few years: https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/Non-Food-Offers.htm?articleId=9575 I've used it on diddly little 6v CG batteries up to monster sized BMW K power packs as well as car batteries. It works really well, so long as you can get to the battery terminals easily. For £14, you can't go wrong.
  4. Hello all, The last time I had a Skoda, the engine was at the back, seems that's all different now Last week, In urgent need of a small runaround and buying on price, I ended up with a 2002 Fabia 1.4 MPI Comfort. I've got to say I'm impressed with it compared to the series of Fords, Citroens, and Fiats I've been keeping on the road for the last few decades as second cars. First jobs to do are the front suspension rear bushes, the non functioning rear hatch solenoid, trace the leak into the rear doors and give it a service. Wish me luck, chaps. 'arry
