  1. Thanks! WD40 on it, got a friend to pull the lever whilst I jiggled the bonnet and hey presto, we're open. Many thanks for your suggestions people
  2. So the other day, the "check engine oil" message flashed up on my dash. Later that day, when the car was cold, I decided to check and top-up the oil. I pulled the bonnet release lever in the passenger footwell, but the bonnet did not pop open. I've owned the car for 6 months or so now and have had the bonnet open 2 or 3 times to refill the screenwash so I know it was working. I've given the bonnet a good pull upwards, i've pressed it down and everything inbetween, but I can't for the life of me get it to open. I'm concerned about driving the car with too little oil so want to get it checked, but can't get in there to do so. Any advice would be awfuly apprecited. Pete
  3. Here's the car at the garage on the day I collected it Took the car to the Peak District for some climbing Then took the car to the Lake District for more climbing Then we got some snow and the car got filthy Commuting 100 miles a week, it was impossible to keep the car clean I then got a dash cam fitted after a near miss on the M4 Whilst down in Cornwall, I managed to squeeze two giant foam surf boards in the car Even used the car to tow my Campervan And there we go, this is how the car sits now, having just gone over 100,500 miles
  4. Afternoon all. Figured it was about time to introduce myself, having been a member on here for 5 months. I bought my Octavia vRS in January and since then have thoroughly enjoyed having it. I've clocked up over 8,000 miles in that time, taking it all the way up to the Lake District and all the way down to Lands End. I have also come across some, let's say, foibles. I occasionally get the "leave vehicle only when selector in position P" error. I also every now and again get an EPC light and a start/stop error. None of these hasn't been fixed by me just turning the engine off and back on again. Had a nosey around on the forum and these seem to be common errors. I'll get them looked at when the car goes in for it's next major service. On that note, I bought the car with reasonably high milage for a 14 plate on 92k. But it has only had 1 owner from new and has a Full Skoda Service History so i'm happy it's been looked after. All the receipts in the file show the previous owners name, but on the V5C, the owner is listed as Volkswagen Financial Services. Does anybody know why this might be? I guess it was a lease car? Anyway, less chit chat, more pictures...
