  1. thanks Urell! Actually, I never complained about the design. I only asked if members found a way to stop the rear window getting dirty. I love my Yeti. My previous car was a Defender that got stolen.
  2. I will leave this forum as I feel so unwelcome. I can't understand why some people read a topic that I started and then complain about it; There are many threads on forums that I have no interest in - I don't read them. I express my views and will debate them with anyone. I quite enjoy an argument, but not a quarrel. Why do some get so personal? If it gives them any satisfaction, yes, I found their comments very hurtful. But I will seriously consider if I need to change the way I post. I won't respond to any more posts, but I would welcome any constructive PMs from any open-minded members. There are certainly some who have managed to be critical without being so rude.
  3. OK, but I'm not going to be looking at marker posts on the hard shoulder when I'm about to overtake on a motorway.
  4. You can see those in your offside wing mirror? At 70mph?
  5. When you collect the vehicle, ask to see the "cooling unit" I wonder if they mean the radiator? I'd love to see some photos if can manage to get some.
  6. Hi KTM690rr, who are you quoting? How do you know why the police stopped them - just curious :-)
  7. Thank you for a well-argued and polite response. At times I think this forum is a bit brusque! (Brusqoda?) I do try not to be rude but when some one told me "to get a life" I responded in what I thought was a humorous way. I don't think my remark was "uncalled for". But I shall try not to annoy so many people.
  8. Oh, sorry sir, tipping my hat. How long do I have to be on the forum before I can express an opinion? The forum is for debate, after all.
  9. 100% correct for a convex mirror. But for a flat mirror it is ONLY dependant on the relative speed. When reversing one doesn't need to judge the speed of approach but the distance, and you may have static points of reference. But on the motorway what points of reference do you have?
  10. Judging by the number of drivers who change lanes on the motorway at the last second, forcing me to brake, I'd say many drivers never learn to judge distances. (and probably don't check their rear view mirror. You may be skilled at this, but most aren't.
  11. I disagree; the relationship between apparent size and distance is non linear. In the US and Canada, flat glass in mandated for the driver's side wing mirror.
  12. Another good reason to keep the rear window clean; the rear-view mirror is flat, the wing mirrors are convex. Hence only the rearview mirror enables you to correctly judge the distance of following vehicles.
  13. Just take some photos of the fusebox so you know where they they go!
  14. Is that with all fuses out?? Definitely disconnect alternator - it could be faulty or badly installed.
  15. Do you mean the cable onto the positive terminal of the battery? If not please explain. Are you saying it draws ten amps with ALL fuses removed?
  16. My Chrome browser Version 64.0.3282.167 (Official Build) (32-bit) is so good at blocking ads that I have uninstalled AdBlock - has anyone noticed any downside?
  17. I don't think this is true today. If I press the pedal firmly and steadily (with the car stationary) it travels a long way, but when driving, it seems OK.
  18. Petrol engines today use EFI - electronic fuel injection. They need it to meet the emission standards. the old carburettor is even a rarity on motorcycles. But plenty of us old bug***s remember them! Amal, Mikuni, etc.
  19. No. You are on your own now.
  20. Modern petrol engines don't have a throttle either. But we all know it is the accelerator pedal.
  21. I reckon they have a policy but the staff don't care. You have to look plausible. Give them a chance to say to their manager, 'oh, I thought he looked kosher' A three-piece suit - no; dirty boilersuit - yes. And knowing the part number probably lends cred.
  22. I suggest you go to the Ross-tech support forum and post an autoscan.
  23. I'm sorry, I don't know. Can you provide more details? someone else will help. What diagnostic system are you using?
