  1. I have looked through loads on here. know the job in and out now 😂 I can’t see how the described tool would work either, I dropped the locked, when I could see the connector I shimmied a tiny tool in and flipped the bit up that holds it in. It’s a total mental plug to get off in situ. unfortunately it means speaker out and finding the correct rivets now as none that we have here fit. The issue is not doing the job but the part itself. 2 Skoda and 1 Vag trade part supplier told me CE when thanks to that little site up there 👆🏻 it is infact CN. (I live in Basingstoke and our dealership shut down. They’re all roughly the same distance and off course the trade supplier was £30 cheaper) all three using the cars VIN number not guessing based on year etc. Ive traced through the car, after stupidly forgetting the amp under the passenger seat which would have saved half the wording of the original post. 8 speaker cables come out the Head unit and go the the amp, and seemingly 20+ cables that then come out of it, the loom of cables must be over an inch diameter.
  2. Thanks Langers I use a similar website for Mk1 and mk2 fiesta parts. never knew there was one easily accessible for newer cars aswell 👍🏻 I also didn’t realise that the “sound system” was some sort of premium. Surely they could have picked a more premium name than that. they literally just called it what it is 😂😂
  3. Hey hey owned my 2010 superb elegance estate for 3 and half years now. It’s been pretty trouble free, until recently. I think the battery is dead, I want a specific ybx5100 that’ll be delivered on Monday. while I was at my mates garage they said to check the door wiring harness as a cause of voltage drop. needless to say it’s wrecked. ordered a new one but it appears wrong. I checked with 2 dealers (none local though 😡 it shut) for the right part number and then ordered it through TPS. mine has 13 connectors the new has 12 there is 6 speaker cables on the original plug the new has 2 cables that then go into the big speaker and come out to the tweeter by the handle. there is no connector for the medium sized speaker. have I got the wrong cable? old - 3T2 971 120B new - 3T2 971 120CE i could just chop into the tweeter wire and run the middle but I’d prefer it to be right after forking out the dough! any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Sorry bud I worded it badly, edited now i have an iPhone so I’d expect yours wouldn’t work for me thanks anyway
  5. Thread revival. Sorry my problem is I’d rather replace my iPhone with a Samsung than spend £200+ on the one ebay There is a few under half that price on eBay for VWs and Seats but with totally different part numbers! are they the same thing but with a different part number? The plugs look the same except some don’t have the second plug Hopefully somebody has used a differential part number rather than the 2 noted in this thread 1K8 035 730 D - for example 7p6035730 j - another example
  6. Not so bothered about Bluetooth streaming calls is what I want which I’m hoping the newer module does?
  7. Thanks for the replies bud Yeah most of the posts on here say around £100 some a bit more some a bit less finding one is the problem, I’ve messaged everyone breaking a superb on eBay and a few have come back saying they’re sold already :( ill wait and do do it properly rather than dicking around with aftermarket stuff. Or or I might just get a Samsung! Lol

  9. would the updated Bluetooth module be a better idea than replacing the current dension box with one of these? http://shop.dension.com/en/gateway-pro from what I’ve read the updated Bluetooth module would do pretty much the same but without any extra cables. Is that right? i think I’d rather pay an extra £23 for the 1 module on eBay than £177 and have the cable flopping about
  10. Cheers Rustynuts yeah it’s MDI. Don’t know why I put dvi I can’t find a plug though, just this dodgy cable that comes out from behind the glove box. Picture attached. I’m assuming the mdi input would be in the armrest near the aux input? I’ve found my Bluetooth module. I just can’t find a replacement! Is there any other cars that the right part number is found in so I can hassle more breakers? Also I have pictured where it should say my versions but there is no button for it :( the other picture is where a factory fitted Rosen z8 was. The dvd drive is broken. Looking for a replacement with a usb input I think!
  11. Hi guys new to Skoda (and modern stuff in general) The car is a 2010 so no connecting my iPhone! Which I’ve read here can be fixed by replacing the Bluetooth box under the seat with later modules. Not the easiest thing to find though!!! I’ve now read a bit on here about being able to enter full postcodes, which would be nice. the main question i guess is what is the latest version I can update my Columbus to? And will that enable full postcode support? and latest map version? Also while I’ve got a post in this section My owners manual says I should have a “dvi” plug in the glove box. All I have is a bodged cable that comes out the side with an iPhone lightning connector stuck on the end. its been raining all all day so will chuck some pictures up in the morning of current versions and my “plug” I live in the middle of newbury / Thatcham / Reading / Basingstoke in Tadley if anyone is local ish with current discs. The drinks would be on me! Kelv
  12. Just bought my first non Ford car. I’ve never fancied a change but saw this car on my mates computer totally by accident, he’s a car dealer and was looking at a bca sale catalogue. its a 2010 superb 170 manual elegance estate. I’ve only driven about 40 miles in it so far but love it, I’ve not taxed or insured it yet, don’t that for the 1st of Feb. (drove it home on trade plates) I’ve had mondeo estates, focus estates and many Mk2 fiestas for the 17 years I’ve been driving and still own a mk2 Fiesta, The superb is so much more car than any of these. Can’t wait to get some miles behind the wheel! I’ve read loads of threads already on here that have answered questions, as I drive it I’m sure there will be more! Kelvin
