  1. Thanks, although looking at 7zap I'm getting lost already trying the original catalogs I get stuck on the engine lol. Although I think I found it, 6Q0423445 which googling seems to be it. I can find a used one cheaply too. Removing this thing, will steering fluid pour out or is it dry inside?
  2. Nobody? How can I tell which one it is? heer https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/oen/6q0423445 lists several. Looking underneath it looks like this: With the connector like this: So it's 3 pin and would appear to me that non of the ones on the linked page are the same as the connector on the sensor has a tab sticking out, I cannot see one on any of those? Is there somewhere that will tell me exactly what the part number is from my reg? Thank you. Matty
  3. Hi, I'm having issues with my power steering failing. Before Xmas the steering sensor was cleaned and this bought the power steering back to life however this weekend it went again. Is there a way to test the sensor? Else can you reccomend where best (and cheapest) to get one and what the part code I need is please? It's a Skoda Fabia 2 1.4 Estate 58 plate. Thank you.
  4. Can someone please point me to the correct removal tool for the Fabia (58 plate) door wiring loom connector removal tool? Thank you.
  5. OK cheers, I found some pin extractors. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/11pcs-Car-Electrical-Wiring-Crimp-Connector-Pin-Extractor-Terminal-Removal-Tool/132295156809 These must have something that works lol
  6. OK, so yesterday I bought the groupon voucher, using a previously ungroupned email address so I also got a further 10% off and got the current £34 ish down to £29 ish. Today I managed to get a timeslot to have it done- according to the ATS staff they have had an awful lot of groupon customers recently. My AC now blows cold - YAY!
  7. If you have it available yes please, but dont go to a lot of effort for lil ol me.
  8. OK, I guess Ill take a better look atthe weekend - the extractor sould be esay enough to replicate, if not thereis always ebay. NOw to root around for some replacement wire too lol
  9. its a 58 plate, I emailed MIke but hes away right now. yes its a single connector, several of the wires are broken or about to break so I can see myself replacing all the wires. They may not go back in using the same colours. I have yet to investigate if I can remove the individual connectors out of the plastic housingm, if I can do then Ill replace the entire length, I dont quite fancy just patching existing bad wire. The drivers window no longer auto opens/closes but does work via the door switch, the left mirror does not move - so I do have more problems - but as long as it locks then Im in no hurry lol. Cheers.
  10. BTW - is there a guide to the wire sizes and colours and whatthey do anywhere?
  11. OK cheers, Ill ask MIke although if its anything like the pricves I googled earlier then ill likely be going the repair route given that Im an electronic engineer type with a steel zip tie around my wallet
  12. Any reccomendations on whether to get a complete new loom for the drivers door (and where?) or can it be taken out and the connector rewired? I found the wiring between the door & the frame had many breaks in it, horrible wire type considering its going to be moved a lot.
  13. I used Mguires, £22 from amazon on my wifes micra a couple of years ago. Worked brilliantly, using the polisher in a battery drill helped a lot. The key is to use lots of elbow grease and follow the correct polishing order. While this is not a 5 minute fix, it certainly restores plastic headlights well. Im sure other compounds work as well, the kit had everything in it and can be used again.
  14. OK cheers. Im more likely to go the microswitch replacement route (coz thats how I roll lol). NOw how to get it off, although Ill check the wires out. Skoda really seem to have screwed up on thier choice of wire type.
