  1. Ah the usual "if it's not the exact same as @Chelseacraig's it's pure an utter pish" and "if it is the same as his, your copying him".
  2. WOW!!! That looks class! Definitely sold on lowering mine now
  3. I appreciate not everyone has the option of off-street parking, but I just reverse the car right up to the garage door, so that it's not possible to walk behind the car or open the boot (or the garage door for that matter). I always have the cover pulled across, but never have anything left in the back anyway, other than a coat and maybe the child's buggy.
  4. Was at this for the first time myself on Saturday. The only Skodas I saw were JohnnyType2's and the blue one he posted a picture of - had hoped to see a few more.
  5. I got carpet mates made up through an eBay shop for £40. They are a custom tailored mat and they were able to make them pretty much exactly the way I wanted them - black carpet, red trim and stitching and the current VRS logo. eBay link: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Octavia-2013-Luxury-Car-Mats-VRS-Logo/172971818574?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I was well pleased with them - the red trim matches he stitching on my interior and lifts the black interior a little. The eBay shop is called Flashmats or something, but it's a actually a very reputable company called Unique Products UK, who also have a seperate website carmats4u.com I found the eBay shop easier to deal with - fast responses, etc. I also bought genuine Skoda mudflaps from Skoda Parts Ireland - top class service.
  6. Thanks for the offer, but based on your description and what I had already thought, I'd be inclined to run with ordering candy white if I can.
  7. Thanks. Wasn't aware moon was only available later on - I'd say it's almost definitely candy then.
  8. Looking a bit of help from the resident experts. Recently bought a late 2014 Octavia VRS Esate. It's white, but I'm not sure which type (although I'm fairly certain it's candy white). The sticker on the boot floor is a bit scuffed and it's difficult to pick out any paint code from it. My issue is that when I enquired about the car, the dealer told me they had replaced the drivers door handle cap. What he didn't tell me is that the replacement is not the right shade of white. The cap has an almost bluey tinge to it - it makes the rest of my car almost look dull, which leads me to believe the cap is moon white (metallic) while my car is actually candy white. Is there any other way to confirm the paint code, before I go ahead and order a replacement? Obviously I could get back to the dealer and get them to sort it for me, but as a wise man once said "If you want a job done right..." Also, there's the small matter of a stretch of water between us, which just makes things more difficult. Thanks in advance
  9. Mine was something similar. I had toyed with the idea of getting it for my 30th, in November, but ended up the wife took me away instead. So I ordered it as soon as we got back and told the wife to give it to me for Christmas. Her name is Rebekah, so I've told her that's what the R is for, but really it's just the letter that I thought looked best with the 30.
  10. That’s really nice. What part of the country is that? There’s a nice green one near me that I often meet on the way to work.
  11. I’ve noticed a slight whistling/whining noise from the car. To be honest I think it’s just a ‘normal’ noise but thought I’d raise it anyway. I only hear it at low speeds (and low revs) when I accelerate a bit. If I moved off just using the clutch there would be no noise, but if I apply a bit of throttle I can hear it. Anyone had anything similar?
  12. Can’t buy them here for love nor money
  13. Quick pic at the services in North Wales, en route back to NI from Derby.
