  1. Thanks. So what would this plug in to? I have a SONY DSX-A400BD with the relevant ISO harness adaptor and FAKRA aerial converter.
  2. Yeah I put a meter on that too and found it to be constant. Why are these things never simple? What happened to plug and play like in the good old days?
  3. Thanks for this. My mate and I suspected that we may have to run a wire from a spare switched in the fuse box and you've just confirmed it. Cheers
  4. Thanks very much for this. I think you may have answered another question that I've also posted. I've got two constants running into my constant red and switched yellow, meaning that the stereo needs turning off physically on exit. My mate and I deduced that we'd need to run a spare switched from the fuse box. Cheers mate
  5. I'm replacing the bog-standard STREAM stereo with a SONY DSX-A400BT head unit. I'm having trouble with the switched live (red and yellow off the unit). It seems that both the connections from the car that go into these are both constant live (both red and white), so I'm getting a constant feed of both these regardless of whether the ignition is on or off (also checked with a multi-meter), meaning that I have to physically turn off the head unit when exiting the vehicle. This happens even if I switch the red and yellow wires from the unit (obviously as both are constant). Has anyone had any experience with this same problem and is there an easy way around it please? I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
  6. Thanks very much for all the advice guys. In the end I got cold feet and opted for just an AM/FM tuner version of the stereo I wanted. I am fitting a single din Sony head unit with appropriate ISO harness and fascia converter. Is there any advice you can give me on this please? I've seen some threads on here talking about 12v diagnostic leads and aerial socket adaptors/converters, or does that not apply? Cheers
  7. Hi, I am looking to replace my factory fitted radio with a single din Sony stereo with a fascia converter and ISO harness. Is it a simple swap, plug and play job? I've seen some threads on here talking about 12v diagnostic leads and aerial socket adaptors/converters. Any advice would be appreciated. This is my new head unit https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/p/-/-/-/-/?548779360&0&cc5_261 And this is my ISO harness https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F160975337189 Thanks in advance.
  8. Hello everyone, this is my first post, I have just bought an 06 Octavia. I am looking to fit a DAB Radio and am thinking about the aerial. Do I need to fit a completely different DAB aerial to the car and if so does anyone have any recommendations please? I have seen splitters that are able to use the existing aerial and was wondering if they would be appropriate. I found this one on eBay, any thoughts would be appreciated: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DAB-AM-FM-Radio-SMB-Aerial-Antenna-Splitter-for-SONY-Car-Stereo-CT27AA136/182577779319?epid=1833745544&hash=item2a827bd277:g:qsUAAOSwi7RZG1IW Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.
