  1. Hi, I have the 1.4tsi sportline Superb3 and i feel your pain and have the same exact issue Skoda weren't interested at all. I'm wondering whether they have made it soft as **** incase they do a VRS model. Anyway same thing bouncy and ploughing through the travel on back roads. Cornering is fine just undulating roads at over 40mph is horrible. SO have you fitted this yet ? if so how harsh is the ride ? I'd like to hope this just absorbs more energy reduces the bounce and makes the car feel more Audi like! PLEASE tell me this i'm hovering over buy myself. I love the sportline so practical and great for the family room in the back and boot etc but i'm so hacked off with this dampers i'm tempted to sell up after 6000miles and get a E series or maybe an a6 avant and compromise on the boot. A b6 damper might just be the ticket to making the superb a bit more fun and predictable over wavey roads and bumps.
  2. Thanks very interesting do you have any sports springs that you have used or are available. This might be the fix for the issue i am having with my 1.4 tsi sportline. I wasn't aware that there was sports suspension for the sportline i presume this is an optional extra for a different model you are talking about? Progressive steering is this standard on the sportline do you know i'd like to think so. a great car but just needs to settle down handling wise i think
  3. Yours is a petrol 220bhp model i presume ? Interesting i'm sure they have screwed up on the 1.4 tsi and just put the same suspension as the 2.0 tsi on when the 1.4 engine weighs next to nothing. My gut says this is the cause of the bouncing. I'm not a car expert but know suspension and how it works from my mountain bike knowledge. Dampening and spring weights are changed based on a riders/bike weight and the same methodology can be applied to a car as the weight of the engine aids the initial suspension sag and loads the dampeners. Currently i still have my tyres pressures at 3bar all round as i was fully loaded recently to go on a camping weekend - but even then on that journey it was bouncing all over the shop and sagging down at the rear
  4. Thanks yeah i will do this and i do get wheel spin off the line i find easying off then back on works a treat. I do get the feeling that they haven't thought through the lack of weight with the 1.4 tsi and with crap in the boot / family lifeit seems 200% worse so be interesting to see what skoda say. Maybe some tougher springs are required but i'm certainly not paying for them! I dunno but i'm not happy!! Otherthan this fundamental issue the car is absolutely outstanding for family i just wish it didn't bounce as you lose all confidence in a poor handling car. My guess is the springs/ dampers are all the same and 2.0 tsi and diesel engines which weigh massively more than the new 1.4tsi - which is now run in is amazing. Really hope skoda sort this out for me. Generally i'm very happy but this is a major issue/flaw in my opinion.
  5. Mine is Standard suspension. I was told i didn't need it by the salesmen I'm wondering whether i should have spec'd the DCC. This issue is more apparent when there is the whole family in the car which concerns me the most.
  6. My car is in the garage now and they have spoken to me today and said there is nothing wrong! Well it's much worse than the 2.0 tdi i took out as a test drive so someone above who has the 2.0tsi might be onto something here weight wise. I have the 1.4tsi and it bounces after speed bumps and doesn't return and level up in one go. The fabia i have as a courtesy car over the same "test case" speed bumps, undulations on the nursery run home etc handles them absolutely fine. My 1.4 tsi with the two kids some luggage in the boot going to bristol at the weekend was bouncing down the motorway on undulations this isn't was i expect from such a high end car. I think i might have to take 3 of them out in it and show them. I'll keep you posted.
  7. I am a bit hacked off , my expectation was not of an audi S line which is our other can but not a soft vauxhall suspension of the 90's ! I had a corsa that bounced around corners this is the same over speed bumps and ups and downs which if then entering into a corner afterwards is very unsettling ( for a sportline car) I'd expect more dampening the springs seem fine i think the issue lies in the struts. I'd expect more dampening. I'm googling bilstein options etc for me the estate is amazing for a family car so if i have to spend £500 to make it the best i will but i don't believe i should have to. I doubt they can replace the oil as it's probably gas stuts on cars. I don't know enough on cars i just know the setup is far too soft. If only it was like an MTB fork like marzoochi or fox swop out a spring and change the oil done in 30mins !!! So i take it your car is also NON DCC ? mine is the 1.4 tsi ACT
  8. What do you mean regarding the temperature? Do you have a link to the technical bulletin or anything? Anyway email to Skoda being written !!
  9. Hi So you have had this issue fixed by Skoda? I'm sure i have this issue on my new car it feel crashy and rattly and bouncing on bumps and not dampening or absorbing the impact correctly.
  10. Now that you mention this yeah i think i have on my sportline. I think this is the same issue as my gripe of suspension bouncing and lack of dampening.
  11. I have the sportsline estate and i can confirm it does bounce about on speed bumps and had i noticed this on the test drive i would have asked for the DCC or an explanation at least. I love the car but right now i'm googling bilstein dampers to see if that would resolve the issue. I'm also going to report this to Skoda and see what they say. I am a Mountain biker and have alot of suspension knowledge in bikes : It's as if the oil in the shocks is only say a 7.5 weight and not a 15 weight oil ( refer example to mountain bikes) so hence the car bouncers and rebounds too much. Having a higher weighted oil in the dampener would slow that down and still do the dampening. I love my new car but this is my main gripe ! Time to email the salesman on this i think
  12. Thanks guys yeah i had a lowered Srirocco GT done all by vw vagtech and i don't miss my back ache i have to say as i'm getting on towards 40 rapidly. I think this was that the spring travel on the coupe was very small but I doubt i'll do anything and live with the bounce to keep the family comfortable etc. Thanks for those pictures i could maybe check them against the sportline standard and compare. I'm only after maybe a 5mm 10mm max difference.
  13. Arh damn i was hoping of some good information here. I'm semi tempted myself i feel the car needs a negative spring to stop the bounce back so was just looking at a lowering kit. Only like 5mm and make it a bit more stiffer like an Audi. I wonder if an A6 s line style springs or dampers would fit probably very very similar but just that little bit different so you can't! If anyone has any minor mods that just stop that bounce and keep the front end that little bit more planted would love to hear from them. I'm going to run +5 psi in the back than the front and hope that helps. That made a massive difference on my scirocco and was the recommendation !
  14. I'm only on my first full tank and current mileage is 639 and the fuel range left is 150 so "on paper" it stated i'm going to get 789. Granted this will drop massively after 100miles range left they always seem to ! SO that's pretty good in my opinion and that's the cars mileage 639! I had done about 38miles before on the fuel i got when buying the car So guessing you might get say 700miles from a 70litre tank of Shell V Power! I'm quite happy with that this morning i used sports mode whilst warning up to get 2 cylinder mode earlier then once upto temperature dropped it into eco all the way to work. I got 46mpg on an 18mile journey. Diesels and EGR values and regens and all the cleaner you need to put through them to keep them running i'm sick off ! SO for me this petrol was the answer. I'm annoyed they didn't got the 2.0 or maybe a 1.8 ACT as that might have given you a bit more guts and good fuel. Anyway day in day out it's surprising me. I will get 50mpg average and very good at learning how a car runs and works out and a full believer in good fuel and the same fuel always. James
  15. That sounds possible it was more actually for length of service. I had a full miltek exhaust on my scirocco same 2.0 tsi as you! Sounded great not chavy and horrendous just nice purrs and still strong and not one issue in 8 years. Thanks for this since i live in harrogate Leeds is a stones throw away might pay a visit to them! Since the missus is after a new car maybe i'll get another superb and i'll be back on the 2.0 tsi :-) Skoda should have done a 2.0 ACT that would have been perfect! Anyway very happy with the 1.4 and wonder if it's a bit too underpowered for getting the true potential noise from a performance exhaust. Way i see it i'm all for electric cars but until then the internal combustion engine provides a great sound track of itself and isn't heard enough!
