  1. Thanks Waaar for sharing your thoughts, and experience. I have a 2018 VRS estate which was tuned by Performance Torque of Wombourne from 245 up to 314.9bhp. I'm hoping, as this is on a motability pcp scheme, the clutch will last my estimated 25k miles before it's returned to the scheme for my next one. I may be disabled, but I sure ain't slow, lol. As you said, when stage one tuned, these engines are amazing. Will of Performance Torque, told me that guys in the USA are putting hybrid turbos on these engines, and getting 500bhp+ which is totally unreal. Safe driving, Dave W
  2. Here's a link to the Facebook page with my car on it. See for yourself. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10155077477891673&id=192803051672 Cheers, Dave W
  3. ClarkyStu, I have no reason to lie to you about this. Will at Performance Torque of Wombourne told me that most VAG cars were normally higher than the figures expected. Those were the figures he gave me before the final run (which I watched), and the figures came out precisely the same at the end of the run. 314.9bhp. Which is why I don't "round it up" to 315, because it wasn't. Safe driving bud. Cheers, Dave W
  4. Thank you for your quick reply, and I would like these please. I'm not sure how we go about this. Is there a messaging service available here, as I haven't been a member long ? I am on the Briskoda Facebook page as well, if that's any help, under my proper name of David Weaver. Cheers, Dave W
  5. Hiya there. My dyno run and tune was done on bog standard supermarket 95 octane unleaded, as that is what it will run on 9o% of the time. Also, no other work has been done to the motor at all. I picked a dyno tune, as I wanted specific power gains, and not just hyper power that is unusable on the normal driving conditions. I really am enjoying our new VRS estate, as I hope you 245 drivers are enjoying yours. Best wishes, and safe driving, Dave W
  6. Can I ask ? Are the windows on the scout the same shape as the VRS estate windows ? As we do have slightly tinted rear glass, but I could do with some shades for our little granddaughter who gets blinded on the occasional outing of that big yellow ball in the sky. If the windows are the same shape, I will have them off you. It's a pity the boot liner has sold, as I would have had that as well. Best wishes, Dave w
  7. Thank you shyVRS245. That is the sort of reply I was after. I wasn't aware of the uprated brakes on the 245, so that is another good reason for your decision. My own car is still loosening up, and the mileage is still climbing, so I expect on a journey to get well over the 40+ mpg mark, as it's doing 35 to 37 around town, which for a petrol, to me is quite good. Thanks for your honest reply. Good luck with your 245. Cheers, Dave W
  8. I'm probably going to open a can of worms here, so before I start... Sorry ! I have a new (5 week old) petrol VRS estate. The 227bhp version. Knowing that these VAG Tsi engines are good for tuning, I looked at my options. 1... The standard tuning box. 2... Have the chip reprogrammed at a garage. 3... Go the whole hog, and have it dyno'd, professionally tuned by a specialist whilst on the dyno, and get what I wanted. Well, I chose number 3. Looked around for a tuner with a good reputation which turned out to be Will Spooner of Performance Torque of Wombourne, which was just down the road from me. Anyway, I made the appointment and wanted entry over. For me, it was a rather boring 3.5 hours during which Will discussed what I wanted entangled out of the tune, which was more power, more mid range grunt, and better mileage (all of which I have got). Once he had the base line to start from (which turned out to be 254bhp as standard - which Will said was quite normal on these engines, straight from the factory), the fun began. 3 rewrites of the chip later and a total of 6 dyno runs, I got 314.9bhp out of it, and an extra 79ft/lbs of torque. As I have now put another tank of fuel through it. If I am careful, I can get 37.8mpg out of her. In total, it cost me £271 and about 1/4 of am tank of fuel. The car goes like am rocketship when in vrs sport mode, and in eco when driven gently, I can get 5mph around town. My question is.... If the standard VRS 230 is giving out 254bhp, why pay extra for a VRS 245 ? And before anyone says. NO, I'm not knocking them, or you at all. I'm just interested. Cheers all, Dave W
  9. Hi Sasha. I will let you know nearer the time which day it is. Or you could meet us at out caravan at Llanwrst any time we are there. Speak soon. Cheers, Dave and Jan xx
  10. Hi Sacha, we are there 26th to 29th March. And going to Colwyn bay either 27th or 28th to meet a friend at the model boat club at the lake in the big park near the sea front. Happy to meet any day. Cheers, Dave
  11. It's done by a Facebook page called Pixar my car. I sent him/her a message at teatime with a picture, and it was back modified before I went to bed. Must admit, I like it. I might have another better one done when all my bits are fitted. Cheers, Dave W
  12. Here's our new baby. A VRS 230 estate which weve had for just over a week, and we love it. A towbar was fitted this morning, together with a set of mudflaps, and a few other odds and sodds. Cheers all, Dave and Jan
  13. If you haven't sorted it by next week. You can have a look at ours, as we are up in North Wales at Llanwrst from Monday to Thursday having a little break with our new mk3 fl VRS Estate. No real plans for the days apart from going to Colwyn Bay model boat lake Tues, or Wed. Let me know if you want to check it out. Cheers, Dave and Jan x

  15. Don't quote me. But I think it's because production has ceased ( maybe possibly due to emission restriction) I know our 230 VRS which is now at the dealers, is also finished production. We ordered 10th December for a 12th March delivery. We were told that orders were closed 3 or 4 days after our order went in. Best wishes, Dave W
