  1. Hi, sorry i should have said Ive replaced the LHF wheel sensor, i couldn't see a reluctor ring, is it part of the drive shaft?
  2. Hi all, i've got an issue with my 2012 octavia scout for some time Ive had an intermittent fault where the ABS ESP warning lights would come on this usually cleared itself but occasionally it required the codes clearing, however now the lights are on permanently, and i cant clear the following codes: 00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47) 00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47): Electrical Fault in Circuit 00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47): Open or Short to Plus 00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47): Signal Outside Specifications Possible Causes Open Circuit in Wiring from/to ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47) ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47) faulty Brake Electronics Control Module (J104) faulty Possible Solutions Check/Repair Wiring from/to ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47) Check/Replace ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47) Check/Replace Brake Electronics Control Module (J104) Power Steering 01316 - ABS Control Module 01316 - ABS Control Module: No Signal/Communication Possible Causes Wiring/Connector(s) from/to ABS Control Module faulty Fault(s) stored in ABS Control Module Possible Solutions Check Wiring/Connector(s) from/to ABS Control Module Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB) Usually Measuring Value Blocks (MVB) 125+ show the current Communication Status All wheel drive system 00625 Vehicle speed sensor Has anyone come across this issue before ? or able to give me any pointers? Thanks in advance
  3. So just to help anyone with similar problems, it was the Slave cylinder which has now been changed along with the clutch and DMF!!! just for info the garage (and some parts manufactures) recommend you don't use a pressure bleeder as it can damage the seals. Hope thats useful to someone!
  4. Hi all, i've got some fault codes that have come up and put some warning lights on my 2012 Octavia Scout. This only happens the first time i start the car in the morning. and generally after driving a short distance they go off the codes are; ABS 00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47) 00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47): Electrical Fault in Circuit 00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47): Open or Short to Plus 00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47): Signal Outside Specifications Possible Causes Open Circuit in Wiring from/to ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47) ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47) faulty Brake Electronics Control Module (J104) faulty Possible Solutions Check/Repair Wiring from/to ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47) Check/Replace ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47) Check/Replace Brake Electronics Control Module (J104) 00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30 00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30: Signal Outside Specifications 00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30: Implausible Signal Possible Causes Fuse(s) faulty Wiring/Connectors from/to Control Module faulty Power Supply (Battery/Generator) faulty Possible Solutions Check Fuse(s) Check/Repair Wiring/Connectors from/to Control Module Check Power Supply (Battery/Generator) Special Notes When found in an individual control module, it's most likely a local source (e.g. wiring/connectors). When found in multiple control modules at the same time, it's most likely a common source (e.g. ground spot, battery, generator). Intermittent codes are often stored during low outside temperature when the battery capacity goes down and may be ignored. Power Steering 01316 - ABS Control Module 01316 - ABS Control Module: No Signal/Communication Possible Causes Wiring/Connector(s) from/to ABS Control Module faulty Fault(s) stored in ABS Control Module Possible Solutions Check Wiring/Connector(s) from/to ABS Control Module Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB) Usually Measuring Value Blocks (MVB) 125+ show the current Communication Status All wheel drive system 00625 Vehicle speed sensor Central electronics 00907 - Intervention Load Management Possible Symptoms Function Restrictions Special Notes Check/Replace Battery Check Generator Clear Fault Code(s) Possible Solutions Check Battery Voltage Charge Battery Possible Causes Low Battery Voltage Battery Faulty I'm not sure that the wheel sensor is faulty as it clears itself or i can clear the faults and it does not return. It seems to me that 00907,00668 and 013116 codes all relate to power management? And ross tech suggest that the battery may be an issue so i'm wondering if it could be as simple as the battery on its way out? The car never sounds like its struggling to start but i guess the first start on a cold morning will be the biggest load on the battery so that would show any weakness? wondering if anyones had similar issues? Thanks in advance jon
  5. Has anyone had any luck changing the pipe seals? I'm keen to try everything before I have the gearbox out!! It never seems to lose any fluid just keeps drawing air in somewhere.
  6. Can anyone recommend a decent independent garage around Derbyshire?
  7. I'm not sure, is it possible to see it inside the bellhousing?
  8. It's incorporated in the clutch master cylinder, well mine is on my Octavia.
  9. Hi all, about three months ago my 2011 Octavia scout clutch pedal had dropped overnight to about halfway, I was able to flick the pedal up and drive to work after pumping the clutch. I bleed the clutch and it was fine, I put it down to a slightly low fluid level and i live on a steep hill. Until recently!! Same symptoms as before so I bled it again and it was fine for a while, so this weekend i changed the master cyl and initially it bled fine with an ezi bleed, then after driving a short distance it was the same again loads of free play at the top of the pedal stroke and a very low bite point which improves with pumping. I've bled the clutch a few times as per the Skoda workshop manual instructions and its full of air each time which makes me think its drawing in air somewhere? Has anyone had anything similar, are there any common issues or got any pointers for me? is this likely to be the dreaded concentic slave cyl? There's no sign of any fluid loss thanks in advance
  10. Thanks all for your replies, If I'm honest I'm not particularly concerned about where my car is in the 24-month trust building measure because they will wiggle out of paying for anything!! Can anyone recommend an app and dongle that will work with iPhone? Seems fairly easy to roll back the fix, about an hour and between £50 and £150 to have it done and my feeling is that I'm less likely to have components fail if the engine is running the software it was designed around rather than this version that anecdotally causes premature component failure, to my mind caused by overuse and utilising vehicle systems outside of their design parameters? I guess rolling it back would invalidate the 24-month trust builder but on balance I think I'm less likely to have issues?
  11. Thanks for the reply, it seems that the fuel return may be about right then? can I ask have you had the emission fix or did it not apply to the PD engine?
  12. Thank you. yeah exactly that it, was ex lease company so they had the update done automatically. so I don't really know how long ago and at what mileage it was done. It runs fine except it feels heavy on fuel? but it might just be that they are heavy on fuel? I've seen people quoting late forties early fifties to the gallon which was more in line with what I expected
  13. HI, I've just bought a 2012 Scout with the 2.0 cr diesel engine and manual gearbox, it's returning about 41mpg over some (predominantly) motorway and some urban/town is that about right in other peoples experience? I've read a lot about the emission update having a detrimental impact on fuel consumption (and increased noise) and I'm considering having the update rolled back, id be really interested to hear others views and experiences?
