  1. Scanning the threads on this topic indicated that cold weather seems to cause / exacerbate the problem. When mine stuck no amount of pushing flap or locking and unlocking would release the flap. Read somewhere that warmer weather seems to resolve the issue at least temporarily. I borrowed my wife's hairdryer, put it on hot setting and blasted the area around the actuator - took only 20 secs and flap popped open!
  2. Just paid £8250 for a good condition elegance estate 1.6D from a dealer with 17" alloys & KESSY ++. Think your trade in value's quite good?
  3. Thanks top tip - have just had 2 delivered today forgot to mention it's a 2013 MY
  4. I used Duracell! Guess there must be something wrong with fob. Other fob seems to be fine so far.
  5. I'd be interested, how much would it be and price to deliver to Norwich?
  6. Acquired my Octavia 1st Feb 2018, needed a new battery in the fob to work KESSY. Now getting warning that battery needs changing and fob does not work KESSY. Is this normal?
  7. Yeh I know, both rear tyres I have now will need replacing soon so plan is to get them done and move the best of the two to the spare.
  8. eBay seller says it will fit but am wanting to double check before buying This is the item, I know it will probably be a different weight and therefore needs to driven with care, as stated only to be used as a "get to destination" stop gap Has anyone else used a VW or Seat wheel? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/05-10-VW-PASSAT-B6-AUDI-17-INCH-ALLOY-WHEEL-WITH-TYRE-225-45-R17-TREAD-2-48mm/132273882767?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
  9. Am looking to source a 17" alloy to use as spare on my Octy3 estate. I've seen VW wheel 17" with same size tyre. Will it fit my Octy? Any other suggestions, kind people? (having seen the threads about speed being limited to 50 if 1) space saver and even 2) steel wheel of same size, I think best solution is to find second hand alloy.)
  10. Just bought second hand 2013 Octavia and was concerned that fan was running on after switch off even after (fairly) short distance on a cold day. Thank you for starting this thread, very helpful.
  11. First Skoda, a lovely white 63 plate Octavia Elegance Estate. It's taken a time to find an appropriate car - we have had a Jaguar for the last 4 years and needed a very comfortable car - my wife has a neck problem which can be affected by cars with a poor ride. After testing many different vehicles, we settled on a Superb - however, on test drive I noticed a red warning light on the dash. The salesman (from a car supermarket) said don't worry its only telling you you need a service! So we carried on the 1 hour test drive through heavy traffic. I looked it up later - it was a coolant warning light which the manual says stop immediately and turn the engine off! Weren't going to buy that one then! But we realised how impressed we were with Skoda, so went on the hunt for a Superb or Octavia. I can honestly say the Octavia rides similarly to our Jag, so we are well pleased. What is even more delightful is the feeling of solidity and robustness of a 4 year old car - everything works and the design is so thoughtful, it's a pleasure to drive. I'm expecting the car to last me 4 or so years, and am looking forward to it. Thanks to Paul at Stour Valley Cars who's a bit of a Skoda fan. Thanks too to all on Briskoda - massive amounts of great material to research prior to making our decision!
