  1. Mine does this occasionally so I give it a good spay/soak with Wd40. Get in everywhere you can get in and in the hole above and open and close the door repeatedly to work it in to the lock.
  2. Next time the alarm goes off check if the buzzer sounds when you open the door and lights are on. This might sound strange but if the micro switch in the door lock mechanism gets old/ dirty or wet it can cause the alarm to go off as it doesn’t sense the door is shut/open correctly
  3. are the tweeter covers still available please and how much posted??
  4. Just thought id put a little guide on to show you how to dismantle a heated wing mirror. it took about 15 mins and required a Torx driver. Firstly remove the torx screws underneath the housing this just gives you a little bit more play and movement although you won't feel much till the glass is out. push the glass inwards at the top to make a gap at the bottom. pull up slightly from the bottom and slide a screwdriver in-between the back of the mirror and the black circle disc on attached to the motor..its difficult to see in bad light, but if your careful and use a torch and a thin flat head screwdriver it will go in. when I pulled the mirror out the whole disc came off the motor so I just separated it from the mirror lined everything back up and pushed it back into the motor with a firm click. Unplug the heating element spade clips -they just slide off- then the remove glass and unscrew motor, there's three torx screws. One to the innermost side and two through the holes in the disc. you don't need to undo the smaller torx screw -this opens the motor housing. To get the motor out of the way push the cable in to the mirror housing and then pull the motor cable through (pushing and pulling bit by bit) don't pull the wire hard there's no need just be patient and do it bit by bit. next undo the two work screws through the metal body this will release the top cover. just push up gently with your thumb from the inside and then flick the black clip to the outside edge of the mirror and the upper cover should just slide upwards. Again be gentle and careful not to break the black tabs it does slide up nicely if you take your time. The top cover will now be off. to remove the plastic bottom section just slide the clip out of the top and ease down gently and you should hopefully be left with this. ill post the full install after the weekend when I've got it painted and on the car.
  5. is the drivers wing mirror assembly available please thanks Craig

  7. Hi everyone. I have just noticed that the wiring loom that runs over the top of the brake fluid reservoir has rubbed on the reservoir plug and has exposed the copper in the wires. it runs behind the EGR and looks to go through the bulkhead Has anyone seen this before and can answer the following questions - what is the name of this wiring harness/loom or part number? - would I need to replace the whole loom or can the wires be repaired? -how much this is likely to cost? any help would be greatly appreciated as this is really worrying me. Thanks Craig
  8. How do you get hold of a sticker please?
  9. you can just see it resting behind on this shot like I said you need to get you arm right down and fish around to find the bit that comes from the reservoir
  10. Then zooming in from the front of the block just below the maf sensor you will see 3 horizontal pipes fixed to the bilk head the washer pipe connection usually rests behind these pipes
  11. so looking from the top the connector will be here dig your arm down from behind the air intake just behind the MAF.
  12. 2 second mate and ill take some zooming in pictures of what to look for just need to work out how to reduce the image resolution
  13. **WARNING** Be very careful just connecting the bulk head connector as even if the rear wiper works there is a possibility that the connectors inside the car are popped open slightly. this happened to me and if was over 3 weeks before I realised the rear passenger side carpet was soaking and stinking foisty. The water runs down the side of the rear sill (as in TMB's picture ) and it diverts at the bottom straight into the rear footwell so it can be a while before you notice this is happening. There are no visible or wet seats until it soaked through the deadening mat and through to the upper carpet. If you are going to connect the bulkhead pipe I would suggest you use the BERRY scented windscreen wash and keep a nose out for the berry smell elsewhere in the car. Mine also leaked under the boot trim but I noticed the rust marks dripping through number plate lights quite quickly and rectified this for the carpet though. I pulled all the trim off and lifted up the passenger carpet to let it air. I then took the opportunity to remove the passenger front seat and give the carpet a good dry out. If you need any pictures of let me know
