  2. OBD came up with no codes at all! So no idea what to do!!
  3. I will check the vin tomorrow, I don’t have an OBD to hand but I can get hold of one - I haven’t had any errors up on the dash, what should I be looking for from the OBD?
  4. Hello - I don’t think it’s the engine regen as it’s sort of done it continually for the last 8-10 hours of driving over about 500 miles and no fan going with it. There was once a bit of an odd smell but I’m not sure if I was putting my mind to something that wasn’t to do with the car. I don’t think the fix has been carried out (bought second hand)

Hello...sorry for the very non-specific nature of this...i have a 2010 Fabia, 1.6 diesel.....it's started to misbehave a little, fuel economy has dipped by about 10-15%, when idling it has become a bit rough and the noise of the engine has definitely changed, at first i thought it might be something exhaust related but actually had a proper listen this morning and sounds like a belt of some description...if this might be an expensive repair i think i will try to part ex it and get rid of it, is there a small possibility this is an easy fix? Thanks

  8. 2010 5 door Fabia...drivers side electric window - when I close the window with the automatic close function it gets to the top and then it’s like it hits something and comes all the way back down...same with the normal function if I’m doing the window up myself and go too far it acts like it’s hit an obstruction and then moves all the way back down....but I can’t find an obstruction. Anyone seen this before? thanks!
  9. So it’s creeping up very slowly still (I’ve done 70 miles, it’s only just above halfway now) and it edges up every time I drive it...I will keep you posted as to what happens when it gets to the right level!!
  10. So on my way home last night, petrol light goes on so I stop and fill the tank up (£52 of diesel), pay and then get back in car. However the light is still on, needle in the same place and the car telling me 35 miles left in the tank same as before. So I ask in the shop and make sure it’s a pump that’s working...full up a little more at a different pump (until I can see it spilling out of the top) and then drive off...still the same As I drive home it starts to very slowly register there’s diesel in there...so after maybe 40 mins it’s telling me I have nearly half a tank. I haven’t got in it (yet) to see what it thinks today...has anyone seen this before? Thanks
  11. Hello thank you for these replies. I have been on holiday so not had a chance to do anything about the car. I bought the car mid November (don’t have the exact date to hand) and had the dpf sensor replaced in mid January. The EGR fault has only just come up over the last couple of weeks. I had the dpf repair done locally as it was going to be too much of a pain taking it back to the place I bought it from although I did notify them there was an issue. How would I go about getting them to refund me? They have already tried fobbing me off with the three month warranty story...

  13. Hello Thanks for the reply. It's all a bit frustrating as I haven't had the car that long. Someone has told me that it might be simpler to get the ECU re-mapped to ignore the EGR? Does anyone know if this is a sensible idea, will it affect my MOT and how much this should cost? Thanks
  14. Hello bought a 10 plate Fabia 1.6 diesel in November, not having a great deal of luck. Back in January the DPF sensor went and replaced now the car back from the garage with a fault 7343 - EGR sensor - mechanic telling me that the EGR sensor has a fault and I need a new cooler? (Apologies if the terminology is incorrect). Apparently this is quite an expensive job which is very frustrating. I have been quoted about £1000, does this sound correct? Mechanic has also told me there was a bit of an EGR amnesty around dieselgate...does anyone have any details for this? appreciate the help in advance...
  15. So in the end I took the car to an electrical guy who said it was passenger door lock that needed replacing....so they replaced it but made no difference so just turned the alarm off in the end!
