You can probably tell from the title that I’m a bit new to this stuff. I have read lots of posts about replacing the stereo in a Mk3 Fabia, but they have left me very confused. Could someone if possible give some answers to the following: 1. If you have the correct harness adapter (and fascia adapter if needed) can you install any “head unit” and expect it to work? I have read that the car will need reprogramming for it to work. 2. Would a replacement unit also give access to driving data or can I wave goodbye to that? Thanks muchly….I may have follow up questions as well though! Simon

Hi and happy new year to you all ! I hope someone can give me a definitive answer before I make a mess of this. My question is very basic - if I disconnect the battery will I need to put a radio security code in when I reconnect it ? I'm asking because I haven't got a code. I found this in the repair manual which seems to suggest that I'll need it paired again: "The Infotainment unit must be paired with an appropriate vehicle using the ⇒ Vehicle diagnostic tester. The security code is no longer entered. The Infotainment unit, which is assembled at the factory, is paired only when it is used for the first time with the corresponding ve‐ hicle. If the battery is disconnected and then reconnected or if the Infotainment unit is removed from a vehicle and then re-installed in the same vehicle, pairing with the corresponding vehicle is no longer valid. If the dash panel insert is replaced, the Infotainment unit must be paired with the relevant vehicle once again. The user must have valid authorisation to use a programme to pair the Infotainment unit." Hellllllllpppppppppppppppp!!!! thanks Simon

Hi can anyone tell me which oil I need for a 1 litre mpi Fabia engine. It’s 59bhp I believe and accelerates from 0-60 in about a month! I am getting very confused and need a definitive answer. The owner’s manual seems to be pants as does the Skoda app. The vin number is TMBFA6NJ7GZ109508 if it helps. It certainly hasn’t helped me! I’m not a mechanic so please keep it simple. Many thanks Simon

You could always replace it with a DVD player minus the screen (JVC unit from pixmania.co.uk
