  1. I can comment on michelin energy savers to on 205/55/16 as well. The ride on gravel surface type roads is shocking. Constant strong road feel through steering wheel and feels like holding a power tool. Altered pressures to no avail.
  2. Thanks for getting back to me pal with this post. Well i do get resonating noises as well and also on cold start mine vibrates little when revs go up to around 1500 rpm, something to do with the GPF on these as far as I know and 3 cylinder character. Yeah I do find these Michelins transmit more when they are cold when I go to work on a morning but on way home if temperature outside has picked up they are smoother. I still have issue with clutch pedal vibrating at moment which has been there since new but Skoda financial services should be getting back to me next week with sorting it, been 5 weeks of waiting for them to get back to me. Once I get this sorted I will be happier with the car.
  3. My thoughts exactly, I passed on my mk2 to my dad but sadly its dropped a rod as previous owner to me must not have had car services properly as it was the 1.9 pd engine and they are known for going 100s of thousands of miles but that was much more a refined ride and to even say it was a diesel as well compared to my petrol.
  4. I had a mk2 octavia few years ago and I dont remember it being as harsh as this one, whether it's like most people say built to a budget
  5. That's what it says on computer but says since start each time, not sure on how to get long term mpg on computer
  6. I do a 8 mile round trip for work and its start/stop on way and home, I'm getting around 42mpg in town
  7. I do stand corrected yea 205/55/16
  8. They are 205/65/16 and are michelin energy saver which came with car. Yeah I do as I think in sensitive to vibration, not so much sound though, the booming from inside the car dont bother me at all. I just thought with them being michelin they should ride well but as you say energy savers do have their downsides
  9. The booming dont bother me, it's just the buzzy vibration through steering wheel. I've varied my tyre pressures as well which helps a little but it's like having my hands on the engine rather than the steering wheel when driving along. Was your a 1.0 tsi?
  10. I've tried checking for the transport blocks are they behind the rubber suspension cover gaiters or are they elsewhere, I've lifted the covers up fron bottom and I couldn't see anything
  11. When i had a fabia as a courtesy car which had 90 miles on the clock I thought mine had a harsh ride but my god that was bad. Anyways I checked pressure on them and they was at 48 psi all round. So obviously that one not been inspected by dealership
  12. Did you put the cross climates on at your own accord or did you request the lease company to do it for you. Yeah mine is speed dependent too if I go down motorway at 70 mph at 2300 rpm I feel a slight vibration but I think its from the surface because if I hit a really smooth piece of road its calms down but slightly there whether it's a rough point on the engine as it's a 3 cylinder as well I'm not sure, maybe I'm expecting mercedes Benz quality from a budget vehicle. 🤔
  13. When they say crashy is that feeling if strong road feel through steering?
  14. Will do. I think problem is the michelin energy saver tyres and the car seems to be sensitive to tyres if that sounds right. Never known a car like it for being funny, gonna nickname her christine
  15. Do I need to jack car up to check if they been removed or can they be seen while car sat
  16. Thanks for input, the roads near me are not totally smooth, it's more coarse than anything else. On these roads I have a buzzy feeling as if that coarse surface is transmitting to my hands, the roads have to be glass to totally reduce the feeling.
  17. It's the mk3 octavia on a 69 plate. In the filler cap it says 2.1 bar for normal and 2.4 bar for eco which equals around 35 psi which they are at now. I have mentioned to dealership before when it went in for another problem and they said it's normal to them. I do find it better at 2.4 bar than 2.1 it seems to ride better but still has some buzzy feeling there. Whether the suspension like you say is still tight and has to bed in is causing the issue
  18. Hi all, been on here a few times about complaints and problems with my octavia. I'm not sure if I'm too fussy or over sensitive. I have tried setting my tyres at 30 psi for comfort on my car, ride feels really bumpy through steering wheel, tried 35 psi now and its bit better ride over bumps, however I feel a constant fizzy, buzzing vibration through steering wheel but one silk smooth road it's fine but on anything else it transmits all the detail of the road into steering wheel so I feel as if there something on car missing that's not absorbing all this feeling from road. At 70 mph on silk smooth road it's fine but on rougher surfaces on motorway same again, transmits everything. Tyres are michelin energy saver 205/55/16. I feel as if the suspension is not doing anything at all, transmit blocks have been removed so ruled that out. I find this has become more prominent as miles have clocked up but it's only done 2500 miles so cant see tyres being faulty at this mileage.
  19. Yea that's exactly how long mine takes to settle down at a cold start. That gpf is absolutely scorching sometimes after a run just like a dpf but I heard it dont operate same, Gpf have a passive regen or something
  20. If you watch that skoda video earlier in thread you can see it's the gpf and the cat is further down system but it all acts as a three way system
  21. Morning, ive had a look round mine and I can see the gpf on mine, it's not a great picture but it's at back of engine underneath a heat shield. It looks like a cylinder and when you fire car up after 20 seconds it's already red hot so can presume it is that.
  22. Thankyou mate, that will explain the high idle even when fully warmed up and been stood after a while. I havent done may long journeys in it so maybe need a clear out.
  23. Can this be a reason for high idle when cold and is it similar to a dpf where they need a run down motorway and does a light illuminate when it's full.
