  1. Ian, Glad you are pleased with your SEL. they are a good all round car. You are correct it does read a bit off sorry. As you say the electric seats cannot have the tables on them, what I wanted was no tables with the ordinary seats. Alas it is not an option (despite being on build your own) therefore it would require me to upgrade to an electric seat just to lose the tables.........
  2. I have just ordered a new 1.5 SEL auto to replace my 2018 manual (left hip joint starting to twinge). After ordering exactly the same spec as my old one from a dealer, I discovered rear tables removal £0 in the options!!!! The dealer agreed to alter the order, but Skoda said no only available with the Electric seat pack, He did send me the emails to / from Skoda and it is a glitch that shows the £0 as an option but does not indicate you must spend £1250 or so to get it. Posted in case anyone else tries to order this option.
  3. Spoke to Skoda customer relations, got a case number and was told to visit local dealer. Gave service dept the case number and a Technician came out, checked the trim wasn't creased and said "believe Skoda tell us to bond it" he bonded it back on with a 2 part adhesive, taped up - left tap[e on overnight and 100% stuck and no cost. Thanks to eveyone for suggestions and ideas as this might help others if they have same issue, also speak with customer services and they might say yes !
  4. Yes it is out of guarantee but if you don;t ask the answer is always no.... Noticed when washing the car, no damage or scrapes, car had been sitting in the sun the last few days but was cool when washing., could be the heat melted the glue? pictures attached Thanks for suggestions will give them a go if no joy with Skoda
  5. Thanks, did think it a bit rough so will try Skoda UK and another dealer to hopefully get a resolution.
  6. Advice or suggestions please on my April 2018 Karoq SEL. The "chrome" trim around the fixed glass has come adrift at the top adjacent to the back seat door, the glass has a black (rubber?) strip still attached but the "chrome" finish has lifted off, tried to push back on and it stays put for a few seconds before lifting off, opening the rear door catches it everytime. Spoke to Skoda dealer and was told trim is bonded to the glass, and somewhere in the £2 hundreds to replace the glass. Any suggestions as to whether superglue etc. has worked Thanks
  7. A few days after picking up my car at the end of April, I had a problem with the aircon / heating / cooling not working well after a loud crack, turned out it was the recirculating flap motor had broken. Car was fixed 4th June (dashboard, centre consol removed and refitted about 6 hours labour). However I was told Skoda insist that the bolts MUST be replaced even though it is perfectly safe. Guess what the bolts are not listed in the parts manual and i'm still waiting. Will wait until 1st service and remind them then it's a pity Skoda cannot get there a..e in gear after building a really good car.
  8. Took the car in to my local dealer and the recirculating flap motor is faulty and this is causing the cracks, bangs clunks and knocks, replacement part on order and hopefully fitted early June. Air con / heater not working well either but they will fit motor first as it may cure both issues ! Other than that really pleased with the car.

    Aircon

Before I visit my local dealer, has anybody experienced the a large cracking sound like a stone hitting the front screen) whilst using the aircon and what was the reason for it? Used mine for the first time this week (only had car a week or so) and it did it shortly after setting it to auto in the very hot weather, it does it maybe once or twice on a trip and it also has a clunking noise like a flap shutting together with the sort of noise a vacuum cleaner hose makes when it's blocked. All the vents are open including the glove box cooler. My old Octavia 2.0 TDI had the same Climatronic in it and didn't do this.

    MPG

Had my 1.5 TSI SEL just over a week and covered 350 miles mostly at 30 - 60 MPH with a couple of 60 mile round trips, one crossing over the top of Dartmoor. The car shows 46.2 since last refuel. However I use full tank to full tank for a more true figure and got 38.6 which isn't bad at all, hopefully will get better over time and on longer runs. For comparison my Octavia estate 2.0TDI gave 48 / 52 on same type of journeys.
  11. Collected my car last weekend and the autohold dropped out with slightest touch of the throttle and clutch bite - no drag at all just moves off smoothly at all speeds. The handbrake sometimes sticks and the car jolts very slightly, however by pressing the brake pedal and then deselecting the handbrake it doesn't jolt. Thankfully it doesn't suffer with the stalling / revving issues and is even better to drive than my Octavia 3. Hopefully everyone with an issue can get it sorted and enjoy their cars as much as I am mine.
  12. The 1.5 SEL I had a test drive in seemed as if the brakes were hanging on when moving off after the autohold had come on. Was told to get biting point and the brakes will then come off then, I managed a smooth get away twice in a 30 minute drive most times it dragged and jolted but I put it down to not getting it quite right, maybe not ?
  13. Just been told my black SEL 1.5TSI with leather seats, spare and family pack is built and on its way but not sure where it is at present ! Was BW15, then BW22, now seems was made in BW14. Hopefully this is correct and it isn't the "cheques in the post" as i'm really looking forward to collecting it sooner rather than later. Skoda make great cars but seem to fall down on the 7 Ps when it comes to information and customer service 7Ps = Proper preparation and planning prevents P... poor performance.
  14. Looks absolutely brilliant in black with the extra tints, a word of caution that some insurance companys load the premium for retro fitted tints, one quote for my octavia was £70 more on tints that were only £150ish to fit. Really pleased for you and look forward to getting my SEL 1.5TSI in black, hopefully early May.
