  1. This whole thread has been really interesting (and the experience hugely frustrating) but I'm glad to hear BigKev2, you have been referred back the SKODA UK & even back to the factory... Here’s hoping you manage to get an acceptable resolution ASAP. I’m still dealing with SKODA UK & my case manager is being very helpful & informative & I’m also hopeful. I would be very interested though if anyone has had these high revving & lurching issues with the Octavia 1.5 TSI ACT DSG Automatic version... Is this a manual issue alone or not?...
  2. I live in the south (Dorset to be exact) so no snow yet, but last night & this morning it was -4 degrees & honestly I thought I was going to get whiplash in first / second gears... It really is shocking to drive & soooo frustrating! I’m still communicating with SKODA UK & have expressed by disgust with how this is being handled... I can’t speak for anyone else but my car is absolutely not fit for purpose & an acceptable resolution is required!!
  3. I couldn’t agree more BigKev2... Our cars are certainly not fit for purpose and this whole situation is absolutely diabolical and I’m utterly appalled by the lack of customer service by SKODA UK! I’m under the impression SKODA UK have to sign off the rejection process... I’ve been told they wouldn’t do this on the basis that our / my car doesn’t have a fault, it’s a software update... To do what I might add, to update something that’s working perfectly well, I think not!!! As an alternative, I would be very happy indeed for an exchange, like for like but one that actually works properly. What is your next move?... A united front would make sense.
  4. It’s certainly an option that has been mensioned but due to the nature of this ‘fault’ it appears SKODA won’t sign off on the vehicle being rejected... I’m not entirely sure how the process works but sounds very extreme.
  5. Update on my situation: I’ve spoken to SKODA UK this morning and to my dismay, the Manager acting on my behalf, despite pushing my very valid points & opionions, is unable to help in any way other than to pass on suggestions on how to ease the revving issue... Lurching & first / second gear issues appear to be linked as far as the technical team are concerned. SKODA won’t supply a courtesy car either as they don’t consider this issue as a ‘fault’ only a software update... A software update due to an error / issue / fault I should add. After driving my car at the weekend and stalling it three times, once during a hill start and twice during simple menouvers, I fail to see how it’s exceptable not to deal with this issue more appropriately. As it stands I’m disgusted with SKODA’s level of customer service and their unwillingness to provide a reasonable resolution to this issue. I will certainly be taking this further with a formal complaint to the Managing Director as well as sharing my thoughts on social media.
  6. Ords.... That’s a really great point you raise & I had been wondering the exact same thing since this whole ordeal started. I’ve heard loads of great comments about DSG but I would be really interested to know if this problem (over revving & lurching etc) excites on DSG engines & what the negatives are of a DSG... There must be some! Please let let us know...
  7. I had my Octavia issues looked into on Wednesday... It was confirmed the car is over revving and a fault code was stored / found. Code was erased from vehicle as per TPI and a suggestion has been made to help stem the reported issue. The terminology diagnosed has been the ‘Idle Speed Control’ requires a software update. Also, a bulletin was released at end of November 2017 in relation to this know Issue. Had a really good chat with the guy who collected & returned my car from my home... He reported that there’s defo something wrong with the car & it ‘bounced’ down the road (private) in first / second gears from the off & he had difficulties parking at the Westover SKODA due to high revs. I’ve also spoken to SKODA Customer Services twice and have a case manager dealing with this issue on my behalf. It’s been confirmed a fix / software update will be available but also confirmed that the release date is open ended. Interesting what your saying about months & months Lyminton!! I’m due to speak with her again today at midday to go through her findings in the last 24hrs and to agree a way forward. The main point for her was to ascertain if the lurching / stuttering issues in first & second gears are related to the revving issue. The lurching etc makes my car very difficult to drive in low gears etc & hugely unpleasant. I will update further when I have more...
  8. Hi all, This is all very interesting as my new SKODA Octavia Estate Manual 1.5 TSI ACT is also showing many of the symptoms that have been described in this thread.... Especially the over revving to 2000rpm during slow manoeuvres & junctions, & the lurching / erratic & bumpy ride in 1st & 2nd gears, especially from cold. However, it’s going into Westover SKODA tomorrow morning to be looked at... Fingers crossed! I’m hopeful of some positive news as I’m super pleased with the Octavia & everything else it offers me, but after reading so many posts where this issue is still unresolved, I’m not sure I will have any more luck than you all. I will keep you posted...
