Thanks Wino, Do you know if the starter paired with the ASY engine in other brands (Polo? Golf?), which have auto boxes, would be the same as the one used in Fabias with a manual box? My chassis number is - TMBJF16Y823361449 I might have to get one sent from the UK, just be easier if I can find one here.

Fabia, SDi - 2003 - Manual. My starter motor is dead and cannot be repaired. I am in Thailand, so finding parts is difficult. My parts shop said he has one for an automatic, but my car is a manual. The part number I am looking for is - Skoda 02T911023C or 02T911023H I would be grateful if someone could tell me if it's the same starter for the manual and automatic versions. Did they even make a auto SDi? I
