  1. It's an ancient Thule 581 I believe, I had it years ago on an old Beetle and just kept hold of it!
  2. My 2012 4x4 tdi (110) is just creeping up to 70k miles. Only work I've had is to change brake pads. It's used offroad a lot of the time, and so far it has been bulletproof. No plans to change it, even if all my mates say I am too young for one! (29).
  3. I had something similar on a Corsa VXR a few years ago. Turns out it was the fuel pump, might be worth a look? EDITED - the engine on the VXR would just shut off when it got warm, so may not actually be the issue of course. Adam
  4. We have a couple of Ambulances in work sometimes with the plates R U 51CK and PARA 1. Will grab a photo next time they're in. Private company BTW, NHS hasn't got the budget for that! Lol. EDITED - found a photo!
  5. Not a lot really annoys me with the snow monster, other than the muddy sills, and the bloody radio (already been covered!). It does creak a bit when off road in the Beacons but nothing unbearable.
  6. Just to throw my 2 pence in... I've got Maxxis Arctic Trekker's on my 4x4 Yeti (purely a winter tyre), as I live high up in the Brecon Beacons. We've had some pretty heavy snow already and they have been phenomenal. Was looking at Toyo Snow Prox's, but they were silly money for the Yeti (I've got them on my 2015 corsa but they were 250 quid all in for that!). They cost me 400 ish from mytyres. Chuffed with them. Will probably get some 'normal' tyres and a new set of wheels, and just swap around. No point having all season ones up here, weather is too Welsh! Lol. Adam.
  7. So, we finally got some snow here in the Beacons. Had a chance to try the Yeti out on her winter tyres (when I bought her in March 2018 we had snow but she was on those daft Dunlop sp01 tyres so couldn't really comment on performance in snow). Found a steep track nearby that had completely frozen over (temperature was minus 3 at time of filming). Earlier on I had observed a Defender and a Landcruiser tackling it and I just had to have a go (I'm a driving assessor with the ambulance service so I know my way around a car, so not too worried there). As you can see, she performed extremely well. Lots of confidence instilled! Video doesn't really show how steep the track is but I would never have attempted it in my last car, with or without winter tyres! Roll on "proper" snow. Adam. VID_34530513_123829_002.mp4
  8. Hello mate! And welcome! They're Team Heko ones, the fit is great, they were fitted when it was a year old apparently (so in 2013) and haven't been off since, no sign of movement or deterioration etc... I've had Team Heko stuff before and it's always been spot on! They're still on, as you can see! Adam
  9. It isn't always this dirty, honestly. I blame living in the Brecon Beacons...
  10. Thanks Munfred. They look worth a call, I'll give them a bell when I get home from this trip Northants isn't too far from me either really, couple of hours!
  11. Hey all, after a bit of advice. I'm after an expedition type roof rack for my Yeti, as my girlfriend and myself are into road trips and overlanding etc. I have a Thule 581 tray on it at the moment, just need something bigger since the kids are getting older now. A roof box isn't practical as we tend to carry quite bulky things (obviously can't take rear seats out because of the kids haha) I'm pretty sure no one makes one for the Yeti, so would it be a case of buying one and fabricating new mounting points? If so, what size rack would I roughly need? I.e off a Jimny, Disco etc. We are planning on getting something bigger (l200, ranger etc), but for now we have the Yeti which we both love. Thanks in advance, Adam.
  12. Looks great! I also use my Yeti for touring / overlanding, it's really fun to meet up with friends in "proper offroad vehicles", and keep up with them! All I have done is changed tyres to Maxxis M&S rated ones and installed my old Thule 581 roof rack! Great little cars. Although I agree, luggage space is limited!
  13. That's good to know, thanks for that. I'll bear it in mind when I change. My apologies, I didn't realise that it was such a widespread issue, although come to think of it, the rust on my friend's 2011 yeti is towards the top of one of the rear doors, towards the filler flap, whereas mine and the 2009 one are more towards the bottom, i.e under the bump strips. Pretty annoying either way. Luckily it doesn't detract to much from the car, which I think is fantastic overall.
  14. Just to put my 2 pence in... I have a 2012 4x4 Yeti, I have the tiniest bit of rust coming on the offside rear door, and a small blister on the nearside drivers door. Not overly worried at this point, it's very well looked after (I'm a detailer for the ambulance service) , and a lot less rusty than two of my friends pre-facelifts (2009 and 2011). Luck of the draw I guess? Hoping to change her for a face-lift 4x4 in the next couple of years anyway so fingers crossed it stays at bay. Adam.
