  1. Thanks for your advise, but sorry John what are you referring to? I presume your referring to software updates to the kodiaq sat nav... Im fast coming to realise that the kodiaq hardware/software is just rubbish probalay comes back to my thoughts that no car manufacture currently installs a decent sat nav media system..... that's why the Misses' still operates our eight year old ventura Snooper..dead accurate
  2. if you are experiencing engine hesitations, poor throttle response an engine remap is all that's needed....its all down to the person who knows what he/she understands about how the on board computers interact...no need for DSG tweaking, in most cases the main issue is to do with throttle lag... I requested a particular power curb due to occasion towing of my Caravan (something around 230bhp/ 70 Numans Torque) achieved....don't forget the power increase is delivered to all 4 wheels if you own the 4x4 version of the Kodiaq....if you really want to see the power increases graph wise you would need to go to someone who operates a Dynamometer price wise I feel its not for me to comment other than if your struggling to pay your Mort'/rent forget remapping😟
  3. Ive found its already installed on the S10 so there,s still a problem, don't understand why the units are not 'seeing' each other
  4. I did wonder if that could be the problem, I find the app and install it ....many thanks for your prompt reply
  5. I thought I could view/use Googles mapping nav on my Kodiaq dash media centre...this is all new to me anyone done this if so what is the procedure?
  6. DSG's 2.0ltr Diesel's have become known for poor throttle response = poor gear change, lag, hesitation..... My 4x4/190ps had all these problems so from my research I got hold of a guy who remaps particularly to motor racing since remapped done all the above sorted ..smooth ride, gear change with throttle response as the car should be
  7. forgotten to mention I paid £250.... advertised as a Award Winning Remapping Company
  8. 225bhp + 70NM and yes I can now confirm that the remap was successful, throttle /turbo lag gone.. much smother auto change... I personally would not increase the Bhp behond 225 - 240 not if you still want to retain reasonable fuel economy ( VIEZU Remapping Services)..... 07739466602
  9. Well as I said previously got the dealer to update the Columbus and as Im always sceptical about anyone doing things right these days (its old age you know !!) I checked the Nav's screen and yes they did load down 2019 Euro maps etc,etc however the real reason for this post is that the Columbus appears still to be no match for our six year old '8500 Snooper' as the Columbus still gave us a completly wrong direction yesterday.... ah! well wait to see how it compares when we motor down to Spain...with of course the 'sleeping' Snooper in the glove box
  10. Cant really confirm one way or another as I have been laid up since my remap, it has come out with an + 35bhp with + 70 torque not outstanding by any means, nor can I or anyone verify this without the use of a Dynometer, if it was a case of just remapping the electronic control system to get lots more power then Volkswagon would not have bothered to develope and introduce their new twin turo engine this year ( kodiaq VRS). The informus Kodiaq torque/ throttle lack has improved the vehicle does without question drive a lot smoother however I cant say at this stage if fuel economy has improved but from my experiences usually BHP increases normally become depremental to fuel economy....we are going down to our Caravan in Spain shortly driving from Bilbao to the Med' coast so should get an ideal then... dont get to carried away with all these ideals of remapping and chip replacements (some, would most probably effect the vehicles Warranty)..... in the beginning you decide what you want to acheive and what your budget is.. we paid £250 for ours
  11. I looked at fitting a Factors 20" wheel (the same spec' as the skoda 20").. but after reserching my intention I came to the conclusion that unless you really, really want a different style wheel its not worth the cost as the required tyre size to keep said vehicle within the Manufactureres' guide lines and arguably onset warrant issue's produces as claimed by proffesional reviewers a hard ride, also the size ( height ) of the tyre with the new 20" wheel overhaul is virtually the same as the 19" wheel tyre combination due the the 19" tyre height..... I did look at tyres with a 50 height profile as oposed to the 45 but was advise that this would effect the vehicles standing height which would bring one into the warranty issue.........there are other ways to tackle this but are costly
  12. The BHP is shown on the engineers spectrogram computer, they did show the Torque figures but I have since lost my notes, I am waiting to receive written figures (as in most cases thses days the BHP is not measured from the wheels)...... Same sitution applies, without the use of a dynometer or the 'old term' rolling road how do you measure the Bhp/ Torque figures when remapping the vehicles many on board computers or fitting a DIY CHIP ...... Im sure there are some bright people here who can give you the maths and formula....... due to my back problem I have not really had a chance to test the increased power
  13. yes thats my thoughts, reasonable return for a single turbo engine
  14. Well thanks for your time and trouble in reminding me how silly i am, but it appears that the Edit doesnt work, however theres still a view about my experience with the Columbus update
  15. Back to my post have had re map done, Turbo/Throttle lag appears to have been corrected,190bhp to 220bhp, waiting for Torque figures which is more important to my needs
  16. not sure whats this got to do with my post, however heard such a lot of grief about the update of the Columbus I Got the dealer to do it for me when the Kodiaq had its first service shows on the dispay latest European mates etc but cant yet confirm if its accurate till we go back down to the camp site in Benicassim March end Anyway back to my post have had re map done Turbo/Throttle lag appears to have been corrected,190bhp to 220bhp, waiting for Torque figures which is more important to my needs
  17. I have read the helpful posts here and it appears to be more support of the remap than chipping however the consequences of installing a re-map does appear to be a major concern of people opting to do this and the on going concern throughout the ownership of a vehicle that it has a device fitted that can invalidate the Manufactures Warranty.... therefore in my case I think the case of the latest Tech' plug-able Tuning Chip + pedal power is the way I prefer to go.. anyone?
  18. OK, REMAP appears to be the way to go....so will the remap sort out the 'infamous' poor throttle lag of the 190ps Auto Kodiaq, will it increase the torque
  19. Sorry, but how do I get to the 'file'..where the file's location...yeah, you guessed it old and stupid
  20. Thanks Kenny took the car over to a different Skoda DEALER ..(Worthing based) and Chris sat down in the vehicle with his laptop and set up our account which the selling dealer in Newbury had failed to do !! all I have to do is place our Kodiaq in our drive connect to our VIRGIN WiFi/Skoda Portal find the Sat Nav 2018 update file and download it............
  21. Not as you would think! there are two letter boxes alongside '1' and '2' boxes but when you touch them thinking it brings up the letter touch display it doesn't...there is no other device shown on the display that indicates where and how to change from numerals to letters...cant find the info in the car manual which in my opinion is totally incoherent ( poor English translation)
