Honda finance which is Arval. I had already terminated and arranged collection. It wouldn’t be just extending for month which would be the minimum I would also have to arrange temp insurance which at business rates would be expensive. I no longer trust the dealer or Skoda to fulfill the timeline as I have been mucked about to much. I appreciate the post though and I had considered doing it.
-
Yes unfortunately. It suits my needs for work as I can carry a fair amount of gear. Can’t get an Ateca and the Tiguan is to expensive. TBH if it was going to be a personal car then I would have possibly waited and looked for recompense. It’s not it’s for work and it’s just for a couple of years. See how I am trying to convince myself here. Still can’t figure out why it would take so long to get from Emden when it has been released for shipping!!!!!!! Could be the dealer has screwed up and the mid to end July is wrong. That would be the icing on the cake.

1.6 diesel SEL with ACC Alacantra. Dealer is Hortons Lincoln. Colour is Emerald Green so depends on your taste re colour and if you would be pppy with the 1.6 diesel. It has plenty of torque and obviously the fuel economy.

Cancelled my order. Well I should have got the car by 29th at the latest. Hadn’t heard anything from the dealer but information from Skoda chat was that it was released for shipping at Emden. Visited dealer this afternoon and all appeared okay delivery to them on the 26th. Got home feeling happy only get a phone call from him to say he had c****d up and they were not going receive the car until the 26th July. No explanation. My current PCH terminates on the 25th June. Had no choice but cancel as I use a car for work. Very dissatisfying and very peed off. Spoke to Kia and I can have a car in four days. Not the car I wanted but no choice. To those that are still waiting, the best of luck to you. Bye

Still waiting for mine to arrive. Ordered in the same colour as I wanted to have something different from the usual. We have a MG TF in BRG pearlescent green and it does look good. Thank you for posting the pics.

Yep. I was dealing with Paul H previously and I was quite happy, now not so much. Car is on PCH so not a lot of profit for Horton. Sad thing is even if I am forced cancel if they won’t provide a car it won’t matter to them as it will be sold pretty quickly. I rely on a car for work, cover the UK in a sales role, so can’t be without one. I was asked if I could extend my current PCH which I possibly could but I would then have pay out for short term car insurance. sorry for the rant, the not knowing is starting to get to me.

Mate of mine has an Ateca with the same engine. Had it now for around six months. With the missus and two teenagers plus luggage the car doesn’t struggle. I think unless your towing a caravan or equivalent large loaded trailer I think you will be happy. My daughter and I test drove a one litre, again the Ateca and there was enough torque that she wasn’t changing gears to often around the town.

Sounds painful twisting your nuts!!!!!!!!

Lord above this is so frustrating for everyone. My car has been cleared for shipping although not actually allocated to one yet. The annoying thing in my case, the dealer. Naff all in updates unless I chase him. He is new to the job but had a similar role with Landrover. Previous guy whom I dealt with was good with fortnightly updates. They initially promised a loan car if needed now he is changing his tune. well fingers crossed 3 weeks to go. Good luck to all in the VAG Skoda lottery

Indeed, no payment until it’s in the customers hands so it must affect cash flow. Again no rhyme or reason to how they do deliveries. @skoda1982 having been told up to 15 days at exit port yours must be at the head of the queue. Fingers crossed for you.

I think there has to compromise somewhere along the way. I took out an Ateca this week as my daughter was considering it. It gave a more sporty drive handling the bends really well with a lot of control. Hit a bump and by heavens you knew about it. So the Karoq has been set up imho for comfort. For me doing a lot of miles it’s ideal, that’s the point, you choose a vehicle on what you want from it. By contrast I also took out a Kia Sportage, oh dear, floaty is the best way I can describe it. Hit a depression ie sinking tarmac, and it couldn’t keep a straight line.

Well we could be on the same ship just told it’s at Emden awaiting a ship to Grimsby. It could, according to Skoda UK take up to 15 days before transport to U.K.. Then wait on a transporter to the dealer. So effectively up to month before it might be in my hands.

Well based the dealer today albeit Skoda confirmed that the build week was this week. In light of the posts here I would chase the dealer. Everyone is correct there are major issues with seats. I asked what is happening and he then chased Skoda. I had threatened to cancel the order today if I did not receive confirmation it would be completed. I am not sure if this had any influence but low and behold there was a voicemail from the dealer confirming the car would be completed and leaving the factory end of ,the week. Version is SEL 1.6 diesel with ACC as the only option. The dealer is gradually having a breakdown due to the mess that Skoda appears to be making.
-
I would agree. The 2.0L diesel is noisy, my brother in law has one, build quality isn’t as good. I tried the 1.7L diesel which I found pretty quiet and punchy, certainly adequate enough for what I need the car for. Dated yes but I gather it is being replaced later this year. Still no matter my Karoq is being built next week and in truth I would have been pretty naffed off if I had to cancel the order.
-
Spoke to Skoda chat this morning and now confirmed build next week. 1.6 diesel SEL with acc. So they have some varioflex seats around. Not gonna hold my breath regardless as looking at some of the posts wherein built but sitting on the dockside for weeks. Test drove a Sportage GT line this morning, apart from the cabin feeling a bit outdated it wasn’t a bad drive. A wee bit floaty compared to the brief time I had in the Karoq, but not bad at all.
-
Well just finished with chatting to Skoda. Still unconfirmed build date week 21 I.e that’s next week. SEL 1.6 diesel with ACC. I am amazed that with only a week away, production planning is appears to be so haphazard that they haven’t planned for the next couple of weeks. If it doesn’t go ahead I will have to consider cancelling the order. I can’t extend the lease on my vehicle. It would be a real pain to do so.

Hi TheRoq Hortons placed the order on the 12 March. It is pushing it a bit especially after reading the nightmares on here.
-
Well paid a visit to the dealer today as my PCH with Honda terminates 23rd June. Now on unconfirmed build week 21 with a due date for delivery on the 29th. I have said that as I am reliant on a car for work what would they be prepared to do. Not to worried about a week but beyond that, well my job would be at risk. He took great pains that they would keep me running. Car is a 1.6 diesel SEL metallic with only one option ACC. If necessary I’ll take used one on PCH as there are a number around the dealers. Never no could end up with an Edition by way of compensation if the worse happened. congratulations to those that have been sweating and cursing and now about to receive their Karoq
-
First Karoq I have seen and that was a Candy White nipping along the motorway on our way to Zurich airport on Wednesday. Agree with the comments on white cars. The amount of time I have spent cleaning a white car and then a few minutes driving in the rain and it becomes a dusky grey.
-
Or indeed the diesels. Might make the prospective delivery date. Gotta feel some pain for those who have ordered the 1.5.
-
60, and need life’s comforts and since I do a lot of miles the Karoq really does fit the bill.
-
Is the digital display likely to be an option? I got a provisional mid may build for end June delivery ordered 15/3. At least that’s what the dealer is hoping for.
-
It’s certainly a lottery. I got a quote from a comparison site @ £350 fully comp which was for a business rate inc social etc and full breakdown. Considering I do an average of 30,000 miles a year I thought pretty fair. Think I’ll give Dan a call as I will need to insure a ZZR next month and then an MG in July. Nothing but money flowing out the door over next few months.
-
Yep the wife gets a little naffed off when I disappear into the distance. The GT is one heavy bike, the 1200RS is far better for our twistys specially up there in Cumbria. I think we’re both lucky with where live. Thanks for the welcome guys, much appreciated.

I actually went for the Karoq. An SUV for the kit that I sell is ideal. The outstanding aspect of the Karoq when we got in it was the quality. I had an Audi A4 and it equals if not better.
