  1. No DST on my Columbus, only manual or gps, but I believe with gps the time should adjust if travelling in a different time zone.
  2. Mine didn’t but it was set to manual I changed it to gps and it did almost immediately. SatNav was on. My bedside radio alarm clocks to the radio, which is a problem because you need to turn it on for a few minutes to reset the time,if not the clock won’t reset until the alarms sounds the following morning an hour out.
  3. Mine didn’t but as soon as I changed the setting in time and date to GPS it did.
  4. I know what it does and have had this confirmed by my dealership, who said SKODA no doubt had their reasons. My concern is that you view conflicting information from the other displays, mode button and infotainment system. More to the point I see this as a backward step by SKODA as previous models allowed you to select a mode and the car stayed in that mode until you changed it.
  5. Thanks on both things. Will start on the map update I believe I have an sd card large enough. On the brakes front using the parking break is an additional chore, although it should stop things from seizing up, previous cars only had hand break applied by garage often a surprise when collecting the car. Brakes lights remaining on could be extra security I suppose. Previous dsgs applying the handbrake in drive caused the front end to raise up.
  6. You can download google maps to your phone then use them offline.
  7. I haven’t found any problems with the SatNav as yet although I was annoyed that I do do not have the latest maps in a new car and that updates would take 8 hours to download and then 4 hours to upload to the car, so I guess this will not happen. Oh one niggle why do they hide postcode selection. Skoda select registration was fairly straight forward although initially it would not recognise my vin but that changed after a week of ownership. Once you are up and running “My SKODA” constantly asks for locations of events in your calendar which is irritating. The parking brake I like as you no longer have to sit with your foot on the brake when stationary and it releases when you touch the accelerator or pull back on the ACC stalk. I have been told by the dealership that the brake lights remain on, not checked this yet, but this goes against all those government adverts about not blinding fellow road users.
  8. Haven’t tried individual yet but will. I also queried the the conflicting indication with my dealership and was told that it was the way SKODA had decided to do it and that no doubt they had a reason, I just think they have not fully joined up their changes in the infotainment system. i would prefer to be able to select a mode and keep it until I want to change it, you can pull back the gear selector to activate sport if needed and again to return to your selected mode.
  9. I understand that when an engine mode is selected that on restart I have to reselect that mode if it is other than normal ie D for drive. Why does my infotainment system still indicate the previously selected mode, in the top left hand corner and the mode switch by gear selector remain illuminated indicating that a mode other than normal has been selected, when the dot matrix displays D which is the actual mode the car is in. This seems to say to me that SKODA have not updated all parts of their system, in a joined up fashion, when they have decided that you cannot select and remain in the engine mode you prefer. My previous skodas have remained in the engine mode I selected until I decided to change it, this is what I would prefer and if they are going to force this change on me they could at least make all displays agree with each other.
