  1. I'm not very DIY savvy so I'd rather buy an original skoda unit with DAB, sat nav, android auto and maxidot compatible. I'd also consider an android unit if maxidot is compatible and the above items too.
  2. I didn't to be honest, apologies if it did. I can only go off the information provided by the company that sold the tuning box.
  3. If you're not going to be helpful or give advice then please do not comment on this thread, or any thread for that matter. People use this site for help and advice, not to be called out on information given to customers about products they've purchased (TDI Tuning). I'm happy with my purchase and it has made my car more fun to drive. Back to original thread guys and gals, apologies for other people's waste of time posts and for people that are following the thread with e-mail alerts T.G 😁
  4. I'd like to have the skoda green illumination on the unit too, I'm guessing it would be a pain in the back side to replace all of the led's in the unit?
  5. I've read that, waiting for a price back from the chap that mods the units Thank you
  6. The Kenwood unit is fantastically expensive, £900+ 😳 I think it might be cheaper to get the highest spec Amundsen unit. I believe the one's from the facelift yeti fit the MK2 Superb facia.
  7. Thanks for the reply Oli, I'm absolutely useless with audio equipment, tried to put an android unit in my MK1 superb years ago and gave up as I couldn't get the steering wheel controls to work on the unit. I want to keep my MK2 estate until she dies, I absolutely love the car, especially as I've just popped a tuning box on her to bump the bhp from 167 up to 227. That's why I was being so specific because I want all original equipment to work with the benefits of android. Sorry, one more question about the Kenwood unit, can you update the android version as I don't want it to become obsolete because the android version is too old. Thanks again guys and gals. T.G 😁
  8. Are there any Android units out there that support the maxidot for the Superb MK2 Estate FL? I want it to look as OEM as possible and keep every feature working on my Elegance trim. The only other option is to buy a Amundsen MIB STD, I don't know the part number but it's the one with the most features I think it ends with an E as my car has DAB, navigation. Currently have a Columbus unit in it and to be honest I'm getting tired of how slow is it. Hope everyone is ok and well out there. Kind regards, T.G 😁
  9. Would anyone mind posting a video of how to remove the indicator holder? I have managed to remove the glass and screws but I'm having trouble removing the bottom part of the mirror to install new indicators. Thank you in advance to anyone that can help
  10. Hi guys, apologies for the late reply, unfortunately I could not find a way to get the steering wheel controls linked up to the stereo. So I went to a car stereo shop in Manchester to enquire about patch leads to buy but they said it won't. The only way is to hard wire the steering wheel controls to the actual android head unit. I will be paying them to do this for me guys. I have managed to run all the wires through to the back of the head unit. Also buying a new unit to install a tyre pressure monitoring system onto it too NEW UNIT BELOW Xtrons PB78MTWP **INSTALL UPDATES** I have a new ariel installed on the roof with a SMA connector for the DAB USB stick and a FM/AM radio lead for the back of the unit. I reversing camera from the boot to the back of the radio, it is one that is part of the number plate light bulb cover (pic below) Also ran the wires through for the dash cam So again, I am very sorry guys, I will be paying for these items to be connected up to the new unit that is being purchased. I am more than happy to post pics up of everything working (hopefully) when it is all installed and connected up. Thank you all for your advice, help and support through this project but I have come to a stop due to lack of knowledge for the steering wheel controls problem. If anyone wants pics of the end results then leave a post and I am more than happy to post a reply. Hope everyone is well, be safe out on the road guys and gals. T.G
  11. My code is in my owners manual on one of the back pages.
  12. Hi Dan, I have a MK1 Superb Elegance, would you like me to upload my DX code on here to see If that helps?
  13. I've bought the lead with the Chinese patch lead. It's in the post. I will be (attempting) to install it this weekend hopefully. The tyre pressure monitoring system they sent was wrong (sent the mk2 superb one) so I will be sending it back for a refund. So I won't be installing the tyre pressure monitoring system due to it not being plugged into the unit and not wanting a random box placed on my cars dash. The DAB USB is also being sent back for a replacement to be sent. I will keep you guys and gals updated. Take care out there on the roads folks T.G
  14. Taede, you are an absolute legend. Thank you so much. I will e-mail the seller with my car details to make sure I get the correct patch lead too. I'll order the right one them have a go at installing it. Thank you again
  15. Hi tease, thanks for your reply buddy I appreciate it. I'm not auto electrical minded. Do I have to take the wires out of my original steering wheel control plug (pic below of DX Unit plug) and solder and heat shrink it to the canbus box? Not sure what wires I need to connect to the canbus box.
