  1. It is an awesome car. Only picked mine up yesterday but loving it. Totally worth the wait.
  2. Here it is. It looks pretty imposing in black, I think. Only extras were the family pack and park assist. I don't do enough miles to justify anything like ACC. Thanks for the suggesting the black hole stuff. I'm thinking about what to use to keep it looking like new. It's on lease so I've gotta look after it! I was going to get the best in bilthammer double speed wax, which gets good reviews. Anyone got other suggestions?
  3. Picked up my black SEL 1.5 yesterday. Only done a few miles so far, but loving it. So smooth and refined, compared to the 118d I've come from. The ride feels firm enough through the corners, but soft enough for our terrible road surfaces. Can't tell when the start stop kicks in! Plenty of power when needed. Not had chance to test park assist yet though.
  4. Don't cancel now, for the sake of a week or so. You'll only go to the back of the queue with someone else and who knows how long their wait is. The Volvo xc40 has a 12 month wait.
  5. Picking up my 1.5 sel, black, manual, car assist and family pack tomorrow. Ordered 13 March with an expected delivery date of 11 July. Had a predicted build week 20, was built in week 20 (14 May). Was at Emden on 25 May, in the UK on 5 June. Arrived at the dealer yesterday and will be ready for me to pick up tomorrow. Everything has gone smoothly and no issues with either Skoda or my dealer. So that's 4 weeks from build week to pick up.
  6. Just been over to the dealer to sign my finance paperwork ahead of picking up my karoq in a week or two. He told me that they are phasing out the current dsg on the 1.5, bringing in a new dsg and making the 1.5 4x4. Later this year is all the detail he could give. Interesting though. I'd have been tempted to blow the budget on that!
  7. Had an email from the dealer this morning. My car has been built, week 20 as originally predicted, and is on its way. No problems with any seat shortages or anything like that. Should be with the dealer in 3 or 4 weeks. Think I can start getting excited now!
  8. Nope. I test drove one with lane assist and it tried to keep me in lane even though I was indicating to exit the motorway. I didn't like it.
  9. I read somewhere that the waiting list for the xc40 is approaching 12 months, so reckon we're doing quite well with the karoq!
  10. Update from the dealer today saying still with an estimated build week of 20, which should be confirmed next week. He reckons we should have it early June, which would be sweet!
  11. Someone's asked them about the digital dash on twitter. The reply: they don't know when it will be available. Bonkers really, given that all the original promo material was that the karoq was going to be the first skoda to have it. Personally I'm not that bothered, if it was a cost option i wouldn't choose it. But why bang on about it but not have it available?
  12. I had an update from the dealer on Friday. Still got an estimated build week 20 (14 May). Just booked a trip up to the Lakes in July, so hopefully be with us in time.
  13. First one spotted in the wild this morning in Glossop. looked pretty good in petrol blue!
  14. Did you pay the extra for Skoda connect? It comes at part of that, not as standard, I think
  15. I've got mine on PCH. Can't afford to be a cash buyer, like the flexibility and lack of responsibility of leasing. I don't want to be paying interest and be tied in to either buying the car at the end of a finance deal or chance of losing money if giving back. My uncle is in the trade, and he says he doesn't understand why people wouldn't choose to lease. Having looked into it, i agree. fixed monthly payments, no sting in the tail if kept in good condition. only have to service it. I was weighing up whether to go for the karoq or ateca. went to my local dealer (same for both skoda and seat, on same site) and tested the ateca first, got a quote on a 1.4 xcellence (top of the range, but only standard spec available because they've stopped the 1.4 engine), then tested the karoq. dealer matched the price for the ateca for the 1.5 SEL, with metallic paint by topping up my initial payment with a dealer contribution. Much preferred the karoq, just felt a nicer, better put together car. the ateca was great, but felt a bit cheap in comparison, and only available in white, which i didn't want. So chose the karoq, despite the long wait. Think i got a great deal. My uncle looked into it and said i'd been offered a rock bottom deal and he couldn't beat it, so went with the dealer. He'd been great, keeping in touch without being pushy, and has kept me updated so far. Looking forward to getting the car now!
  16. 37 here. Hopefully won't have turned 38 by the time my karoq turns up!
  17. Afternoon all. I ordered my SE L in black with family pack and park assist on 13 march. Estimated delivery date on order was 11 July. Dealer updated me at the weekend with an estimated BW20 (14 may). So hoping to have it on my drive late June, which would be about in line with what the dealer said before ordering (16 week wait).
