  1. My buzz is coming from the area between driver's door and wheeling column, maybe somewhere above your knees. it is hard to track it down really. it started to buzzing when I started to accelerate from 3rd / 4th / 5th / 6th gear, from 2000 rpm to 2500 rpm, especially when I drive up hill then disappear at higher rpm. It is a kind of resonance transfering from the engine to one point inside the car .It's like something is not well screwed maybe. some wire is touching another wire. maybe some platic part. Skoda dealers are deaf to this issue. Could it be the flue clips also ?
  2. Let's get back to this subject again. This adaptation is being done by change two bits in ABS section using VCDS and adapte it. Some of you say that may influent to safety during your drive , It would be good to check if this is only adaptation or any additional hardware is being mounted in Mk3 cars with HHC system. I strongly believe this is only software feature, it costs more less 80 euro at configuration phase. I don't believe that any additional hardware can cost 80 euro , rather this is feature that they enable per your request. If any of you bought new Mk3 with HHC , could you check by VCDS that those two bits are changed. that would prove this is only this change make your car equipped with HHC function and it'll be 100% safely. Are new Mk3 cars with HHC equipped with electric handbrake ? I don't think so.
  3. If your phone does not work , it's absolutely right decision and save 140 pounds . however with Octavia 3 FL , Smartlink is enabled by default , it works perfectly with my iphone 7 . I'm glad I have it . Spotify with my fav musics and a few online Navigation applications ( Waze, Google Maps , Sygic ) this is plus of Smartlink , I deselected Navi feature during my purchase process , I prefer to use online. There are also a few more applications like Skoda One app or some Podcast reader. it's not bad to have it . but I know that some phones have issue with connection to Smartlink.
  4. So i got a one question , been interested to add SmartGate to my 2017 FL Octavia , been looking for a feature like below https://eshop.skoda-auto.sk/eshop/en/b2c/smartgate-octavia-iii-5e0063218x--1 The description is a little too weird , it says like that : Designed for cars: Octavia III since 2013 to KT 05/2017 What about newer Octavia , produced after 5th week 2017 ? this is probably date when FaceLift went live. Is it unable to add SmartGate into Octavia FaceLift models ? Thanks in advance for any help
  5. I don't have much respect to Mechanics and experts at any Authorized Skoda Dealers , If I had not my car under warrenty I would never drive up to them for any check. There are many many better mechanics in the world than those guys at Skoda Dealers. I would call them as guys who can replace parts in your car , rather than they are able to fix something. I know they are polite and well dressed , building is clean and full of glass wall and shiny floor. But unfortunetly they are able to replace somthing rather than fix. Sad but true
  6. That would mean the noise does not come from the wing mirrors but rather from door seals than I suspected at the begining. I have already ordered seals and will apply them as additional one between door and car door frame. Before I do that , I will drive up to Skoda Dealer in another city and will leave them my car for another check for wind noise. I really believe Skoda Dealers know the problem but at any time we visit them , they do everything to be deaf. This either is expansive to correct or time consuming process to get rid of that.
  7. Hi , Long time no update in this matter . i have been also experiencing a problem with wind noise coming from B-Pillar/ door seals at driving more than 110km/s (70mph). I'm also looking at additional seals to be applied between door and door's frame. I have also heard that external mirrors have that share which generate such annoying noise / wind noise. it's hard to believe since I clearly hear the wind noise coming from door seals. This car would be very nice but this wind noise is not acceptable at the highway travel. If anyone got any solution , I would appriciated if you can share it with us.
  8. Yes, direction of wind does matter. During windy day , wind noise is lauder at the area of B pillar. Passanger side and Driver side , both have the same issue , once you are sitting as a driver you hear that better on drive side , this is why you think it's on driver side only. at higher speed you can hear both sides well.
  9. Hello guys , I'm owner of Octavia , but it looks like Suberb model has the same problem , at my last visit at dealer I mentioned them I got wind noise in area of B-pillar , , they accepted the challenge , they tried to adjust the door position , check seals and correct some plastic cover under windshield (whatever it is ) . After I checked it again when I left dealer location ... the wind noise was identical , and it is still identical. I have got many opinion that shape of external mirrors generate this wind noise and we got a feeling that it's somewhere around pillar-B, but in fact it's around mirrors , the sound it just moved to the pillar B and this is only our feelings . it's hard to believe when you are driving above 60mph (100km/h) and you hear that exacly from pillar-B , bit from mirrors area. if anyone fixed that I would appriciate for instraction , this is annoying bug in that cars
  10. Hi , Have you applied Z or D shape seals , any improvement with reducing wind noise ? my o3 has the same issue. I'm not sure where the noise is located , edge of door or rather shape of mirrors generate that annoying noise. In fact , if you drive more than 60mph ,you can hear that both side , the drive side and passanger side. I'd appricate if you can share your experience with that.
