  1. I use this one from Amazon, comes with normal vacuum and Dyson attachments. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07BVS59TY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  2. I don't have either of those, but recently purchased a Vantrue N2 Pro, which has dual cameras running at 1080p and takes a 256GB micro SD. Can also be switched to front only camera at 2.5K. Has the usual sound, parking mode, impact mode when parked, lock file in emergency stuff. Fantastic quality picture and sound. Internal facing camera has night vision, and front facing Sony lens has HDR. Camera is very discreet and a GPS module can replace the normal power mount. Excellent camera for under £150.00. Worth a look. https://www.amazon.co.uk/N2-Pro-1920x1080P-Recording-Dashboard/dp/B0742ZV9LV/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1536753403&sr=8-2&keywords=vantrue+pro

  4. Might be worth typing your registration number into somewhere like www.eurocarparts.com Should give you a headsup on what you are looking for.
  5. I agree with Offski, say for instance a customer goes in to a dealer for a standard 40,000 (major service) when its due, fixed price is £279. The dealer should always advise the customer that the DSG also REQUIRES serving at an extra £179 to maintain the warranty and whatever else is required, pointing out that if they decline the extras then said warranty may be void. As previously mentioned, the manual does not point this out. That leaves your average customer, who may not be as well informed as some members in here, in a very very grey area. Most average people depend on the dealer to keep the car serviced as per manufacturers spec and trust them to keep them right. Not always the case apparently.
  6. I'd not go near Park's after the reviews they receive in here. I'd use Henrys North (Glasgow) mine hasn't reached 25k yet but it'll be getting done regardless. Better safe than sorry. If the car is not working then neither are we.
  7. All I can add is the fact that if it's a 6 speed DSG then it is most definitely a requirement and not an advisory. A few of us run them as taxis and we change the oil at 25,000 miles just due to the type of driving we do, lots of stop start Etc. Local Skoda dealer does it fixed price £179.00

  9. I run my Superb SEL EX with black leather seats as a Private Hire car, my mate runs the same car, an older Elegance with cream leather. It seems my black leather is higher maintenance, you see every fingerprint, every spec of dust on the black and has to be cleaned everyday with Autoglym leather cleaner, his can go 3 days without cleaning the leather, other than a vacuum. Just saying
  10. I use the Bluecol concentrate neat in the winter..won't freeze down to -36C. mix it 30/70 in summer, 70 being water. smear free. only downside is strong smell of alcohol when you use it. I've also tried Prestone and its quite good, with less of the alcohol smell.
  11. I didn't have an original card that came with my MKIII MY17 SEL EX, mine has the Columbus 9.2. I didn't buy the car new. I just bought a £9.95 Class 10 32GB Micro SD card with adaptor from Amazon, downloaded the maps onto my PC from the Skoda Portal, transferred them onto the card. Put the card into the DVD player, updated the maps, removed the card which can then be erased and used in a phone or tablet or whatever you like. Worked fine for me.
  12. Promise the Mrs that you'll vacuum the house if she buys you a Dyson V6 or V8 or whatever...
  13. Might be worth sticking your VIN number in the Skoda portal see if there are any updates. http://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-gb As I said earlier mine only slowed down after updating the maps last week. May before the latest update is being released. No exact date.
  14. I've also noticed this, only occurred after I did the maps update from the Skoda site. Was much quicker before that. I think there is another maps update due in May.
  15. I trust this valeter/detailer as I watch him jet wash his sheepskin mits after each wash on a pole specifically fitted into the ground for that purpose, and he uses the two bucket method for added protection. He also spends more on microfibre cloths and towels than I do on food! He is also trying new products daily, and keeps a black Range Rover bonnet in his workshop to practice on, which instils confidence. He is well known as the best locally and is usually queued out. If for any reason he is closed I'd never dream of going elsewhere, it can wait until next day. I'm not sure I got applicators with my AG leather kit, I must have bought the bottles individually. I just watched the official AG videos on YT, looks quite straightforward. I do quite like the Kent range of applicators with the small Velcro handle, efficient and cost effective and easily renewed. I hear you on the aches and pains Jeff, I'm still suffering from last Saturday.
  16. Going back to BriskodaJeff's original thread, as I'm aging and not as fit as I was, I managed this coat of polish myself. But my local car wash / detailer does two coats of polish and a mini valet for £30 and is happy to use any products I supply, so twice a year seems good value. I use him every second day at a fiver a time for a wash, maybe why.
  17. Thanks, but I've had my wee bottle for nearly 10 years and still plenty left. Still works. You only need a tiny wee drop.
  18. Just as well my wife works 9-5 and I'm here for all the Amazon deliveries, sure hope she doesn't know about my 4k wish list !!
  19. This my third car using Rain X also used it on motorcycle screens and visors, never had any judder with wipers. This new Superb rear one had a judder so I bought a new blade. The judder disappeared after applying Rain X so didn't need to replace it. Never felt the need to remove it from any screen. Works perfectly and is very impressive. Available on Amazon still. Not tried the one with combined glass cleaner. Just the basic one at £6.66
  20. Car looks great. Can you say how easy the Auto Glym leather treatment wast to use? I just bought the cleaner and the balm but not used it yet. I washed and polished the car on Saturday (Turtle Wax Ice) but was apprehensive of using the AG on new Black leather, car has only done 2K miles but is used as a private hire car. Was wondering if worth applying now rather than waiting until they were needing cleaned. Car gets cleaned and vacuumed every single day, just wondering if the AG treatment would prevent/delay wear and tear. And as a wee by thought to anybody that hasn't tried Rain X it is well worth while. Wipers? who needs them with that stuff, the water just jumps off the screens.
  21. I'm just researching the OBDeleven now, appears it will allow me to turn off that infernal beeping when the tailgate opens, and a few other things
  22. D402, that worked a treat. Thanks everybody for their help.
  23. Excellent thanks. Didn't want to try that in case it reset and left me guessing.
  24. Thanks Alan, I've actually had to revert to my Garmin sat nav that sticks on the window with its built in trip meter as a back up. My problem only occurs when a person removes the seat belt prior to the vehicle coming to a complete stop.
