Just picked up my car from its service and very happy with SJB. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Tried them out with an MoT on my 4 year old Octavia vRS. They get the MoT done across the way and then do any remedial work, but none was needed on mine:) The guys there seemed spot on and Jim spent 15mins sorting out a small problem with my back seat when I went to pick up the car. I'll be sending my car there for its next service in a few months.

Much happier now. I've bought some nice cloths and given it a good wash. Then used a Meguiars clay bar - that's a very impressive product. Then used some T-Cut polish on the marks. The marks are still there but very faded and not visible unless you're at the right angle and looking for them. Thanks for your help and ideas.

I'm in Hampshire. I'm going to try the clay bar and polish, and if that doesn't work take it to a body shop.

I need some help. I've got some unsightly marks on the bonnet of my Mk1 VRS - there's at least one very definite hand print. They've been there a few months now, and I'm sure they're getting more noticeable. I've tried polishing them out but that had no effect. Any suggestions on what to do or thoughts on how they got there in the first place?

To be honest I didn't ask - just glad to get it back to normal!

Took my car to another Skoda dealer instead, who diagnosed the problem as being due to a crocodile clip not being tightened up correctly. Last people to do work on the car were Allams with a pre-sales service and cambelt change - I guess they're still getting used to Skodas.

Got it fixed - hose had popped out due to crocodile clip not being tightened up correctly. Thanks for the help.

I bought my second hand Octavia vRS from them a few weeks ago. I was very pleased with the sales experience. The car has just started making a strange sound I'd like to get checked out, so I guess I'm going to experience their after-sales service soon.

I'm posting this having read a number of threads from owners that reported strange sounds from their turbos, but none quite answered my query. I've only had my 56,000 mile 54 reg vRS for a few weeks - have covered 1000 miles in it. I'm used to the whoosh/whistle of the turbocharger, but last week I started getting a very loud hissing sound under acceleration. It completely drowns out the whoosh/whistle. It sounds like it's coming from outside the driver's door, or maybe somewhere down in the driver's footwell. Performance doesn't seem quite as brisk either, with noticeable stutter sometimes when releasing the throttle after acceleration. Any ideas? Tks
