  1. Ive always used thw cheapest door locks I can find on these and I've done about 8 now. Its one of the few things where you use cheap patern parts, they just need careful set up
  2. Hmmm does your doorhandle pull out as far as it did before?
  3. It may well be that the bolt you've done up to hold the handle cap in place is too tight or to loose. I stupidly did this and did it to tight which meant the handle couldn't actually pull out enough to unlatch the door Had no choice but to break it out and fit another one
  4. Sounds the same as my wheel bearings at 75k Unfortunately for me this resulted in 2 x bearings 2 x wishbone 2 x droplinks 2 x track rods 2 x inner hubs with abs rings 1 x abs sensor 1 x CV joint Lots of swearing
  5. As long as you put the rack on full lock to push the one you are undoing as far out to the body as possible you'll have no issues
  6. They dont have to be that tight. I changed both sides a couple of months ago, there is plenty of room as well. I used a huge open ended spanner which was actually slightly to big so I used a 2p coin to take the 2mm difference up
  7. No they dont, I've fitted them to my VRS as well. Was refitting the near side drive shaft earlier and had to hold the wisbone down to slot the ball joint in place. They sag far less than the lower spec versions with gaps in
  8. Im in 2 minds about my vrs as I have been since the day I purchased it. Its just not rear wheel drivish enough for my liking But how would it sell easiest?? Completely as it is running a very fast and usable 250bhp with original intercooler / ecu / airbox included for £2500 Or return all to standard with the exception of the exhaust and sell for £2000 Leaving a THS fmic, ramair kit, forge 007p valve, eibach rarb and the Rtech mapped ECU for around £600 separately? I dont want to go to the trouble of stripping it all off for someone to want a stage2 vrs to start with
  9. Wishbone rubbers. My old Leon did it but was only apparent after I fitted bigger brakes. Jack it up and take the wheel off. If the wishbone hangs down the the bushes are tired Fit TT solid rubber ones
  10. Its thrown up the steering angle sensor. Same happens if your tracking is massively out It thinks the steering wheel is off line Wheel back off, turn the ring back and wheel back on im afraid but at least its a free fix
  11. But is it greased and with the correct colour spring inside?
  12. If anyone needs those aids to drive at all then they shouldn't be driving. I love my VRS because its so basic but its still a scientific calculator compared to the Mk1 golf Someone further up ^^^^^ mentioned the word "crossover" That genre of car actually makes me sick in my mouth
  13. But thats my argument, you dont need any knowledge of coding if you use resistors. Find out the resistors needed and with a £20 ebay scanner scan the airbag system then just clear the code, easy. I've got VCDS and have had so many VAG cars over the past 15yrs that I'm quite compatent with it but I only use it if completely necessary (admittedly its an old and confusing version) to recode. In this scenario I dont think its worth coding out
