  1. What are you using your towbar for? If you are towing a caravan with a stabiliser hitch, then you should have sanded off all of the paint anyway and NOT use any sort of lubricant at all as this will contaminate the friction pads and render your stabiliser useless. If you are using a bike carrier which grips the towball, again sand off the paint and no grease or anything.
  2. Yes, yes and no, as I have don’t drive mode selector on mine. Fitter demonstrated with his light box plugged in how it tells you specifically if a bulb goes on the trailer. All coded into the ECU. Should activate trailer stability control too but impossible to tell if this is the case.
  3. Sure. It was Central Towbars in Derbyshire. Any towbar fitter could get hold of the same bar from Towtrust and fit it. Lots of fitters use Towtrust as they are such good quality.
  4. I had a Towtrust detachable with dedicated electrics fitted to my Superb III the week after picking it up. Was a dealer pre-reg so no option if factory fitted. Cost me £575 from local towbar fitter. All works great, invisible when removed and perfect height and bumper clearance is great. Takes all of 5s to attach/remove. Parking sensors disabled when connected, maxi dot display tells you if you have a light out on the trailer, and which one etc. Very clever.
  5. That clearance looks very tight indeed to the bumper. I have an aftermarket detachable fitted (Towtrust) which cost me £575 inc electrics and it takes all of about 5s to fit it/remove it. Clearance is much better than the factory bar. Advantage of detachable is that it stays even cleaner when not in use too. It’s also totally invisible once removed, just like the factory bar.
  6. Just purchased a Superb 3 SE MY2017 and it won't connect to the Skoda OneApp in car via USB and the MySkoda App won't recognise my VIN - I enter it and it just displays the spinning "I am processing something" wheel and then does nothing. Anyone got any tips on how to make them work? I've contacted Skoda UK on FB to see if they can offer any advice. Thanks
