  1. To enter a postcode on the Columbus. Tap the new desination button, if your unit is not set for "enter address step by step" press the button with the flag and cog on the top right of the screen and set it. You should find that you will have a postcode button on the bottom left of the screen. Your unit should stay in the above mode until you manually change it.
  2. You may be moving too quickly? I reverse my Edition into my garage every day with about 60mm each side with mirrors folded. I have had the auto brakes applied a few times but I think it was because I was exceeding a pre-determined speed. When I reverse very slowly, I have no problem with the auto brake system.
  3. Best car I ever owned was an Octavia Scout, petrol engine model. If the Karoq Scout had had a petrol variant, I would have purchased that instead of the Edition.
  4. Yes, I paid the finance off two weeks after I picked up the car and retained the two free services. The first took place five weeks ago.
  5. I did exactly the same, took video and dealer fitted rear pads without question. The car is 18 months old but very low mileage. The fact that there was no questioning indicates that this is identified as a problem with the Karoq. Now I can confidently reverse in silence.
  6. Last summer, to stop the driverside blade from juddering, I rubbed the windscreen down with '00' wire wool to remove any wax or grease residue from manufacture and lifeshine application by dealership. Then completely rubbed the screen with meths. Applied rainX then bought Bosch wipers. I also attempted to alter the angle of the wiper arm left then right then recentered it back to the original postion. Nothing worked, wiper still judders when the screen is partially dry or drenched with rain. What next? .
  7. Hi Steve_G Did you have your brake pads replaced by the Warrington dealership?
  8. I bought the Karoq on the back of my fantastic 9 year old Octavia Scout. One of the best cars I have ever owned. The Karoq has all the bells and whistles you could want but, with squeaky back brake pads when reversing, juddering drivers wiper blade, even when replaced with Bosch blades and a wiper motor that seems to have difficulty in moving the blades when the screen is slightly wet. The Ford Anglia 105E that I once owned had a more powerful wiper motor than the Karoq. Having owned the Karoq since june 2018, I have lost faith in Skoda and am now looking at the Peugeot 3008 as my next vehicle.
  9. Yes quite a loud three second beep when this sign is displayed.
  10. Drove through North Yorkshire at the weekend around the Whitby area. My first 1.5 TSI DSG. Some delay in changing down when going up steep hills, and over revving of the engine, around 3.5 to 4 thousand revs when going down hill. I would have felt much more in comfortable driving my old 1.8 TSI manual Octavia Scout around these roads. Has anyone else experienced this? Or am I not driving DSG correctly?
  11. Still have not made my mind up yet! Although, the wipers are the noisiest I have ever had in a car, and that includes my Ford Aglia 105E.
  12. Its certainly not standard on my 2018 Edition which has park assist. Unless I have missed a trick somewhere?
  13. They obviously did not test the RIFD pouch that I have because I have tested it and It does work. It also looks better and will last much longer than a bit of tin foil!
  14. I purchased Defender signal blocking pouch RIFD from Amazon £8.99 for two. I have three yale size house keys and a small padlock key attached to my fob and a couple of small barcode tabs for screwfix and petsathome, it all fits inside the pouch. I used the other pouch for my spare keyfob, stored with the skoda document wallet.
  15. Just updated my maps. linked via home Wifi. Now showing version ECE 2019. Only selected England North, Ireland, and England. On the list shown on the Columbus headunit in my Edition. It downloaded, England North and Ireland, England North and England South. Can only assume Scotland is in the updated maps somewhere? Could not see a seperate Scotland in the list. Took about one hour thirty minutes to complete.
  16. Pity were not living in the USA. There would have been a multiple consumer law suit and VAG would have thrown everything at sorting it out before they are forced to pay millions in compensation payments and fines.
  17. This guys thinking more about his commission on the resale of your Karoq. You can bet your Karoq won't be a £1,000 cheaper than the Karoq next to it on the forcourt. The few I have seen for sale have no difference in price at all. If anything, there would be a premium on the beige leather trim because with certain coloured cars the Karoq looks more of a premium model.
  18. I have the Edition. Extras I ordered at purchase were park assist. Assistance pack 1. Spare wheel. And family pack. The Edition has heated front seats, I just wish that I had specified rear heated seats for rear passengers. First time for leather for me. The seats are bloody cold in winter!
  19. Always use my trusty magnusson 1/2" torque wrench. All my skodas have been 120NM. For wheel bolts. And I also check when I have have tyres fitted. Usually have to adjust settings.
  20. Not sure why? 18 cars and 45 years of motoring, never had a problem!
  21. I agree with Skoffski. As soon as the weather turns a little milder I will be applying copper slip grease to all pads. The PTFE spray is a quick fix that will see me through to Spring. And when, putting the wheels back on I always dip the bolts into copper slip before tightning back up.
  22. No! The lube can came with a 150mm flexible tube so that I could manipulate through the alloy wheel. Took 20 seconds for each rear wheel.
  23. I had the same problem, low mileage, short runs and when reversing slowly and applying the brakes experienced a low level squeal. II used a dry PTFE spray between the caliper and pads, ensuring no spray got onto the pad face and discs. Worked a treat, no squealing at all.
  24. I have the Edition model. I don't have phone charging facility. The battery charge icon is shown in green to the left of the signal strength bars.
  25. English nationalism! Thats rich. Have you listened to Ian Blackford recently.
